Bruised, bloody, weary, and tired, Allegra stood besides Ron, Harry, Ginny, and an obliviated Lockhart in front of Professor McGonagall's office. Harry knocked on the door, and it slowly creaked open.
What greeted them on the other side was quite a sight. Dumbledore and McGonagall stood solemnly by the mantle piece. Molly was sitting in front of the fireplace, crying, with Arthur standing at her side. Her Uncle stood by the window anxiously smoking. At the sound of the door creaking, everybody's eyes snapped towards them.
Allegra grew deaf to everything around her as her entire focus centered on her Uncle. In the blink of an eye he was striding over, then she was in his arms. Her face sunk into his chest as his arms tightly wrapped around her: as if refusing to ever let her go.
It was then that Allegra realized her Uncle was shaking.
Her eyes widened as she absorbed his distress. "Uncle Casp, I'm all right," she assured. "Really, I'm-"
"Just let me hold you. Please," he mumbled into her hair. Her bones felt like they were vibrating from his pain. His body engulfing hers only enhanced the effect.
His hold suddenly tightened. "I thought I lost you, Allegra. I thought I lost you too," he croaked.
Her eyes watered, realizing the dark places his thoughts must have drifted to.
"Allegra! Oh Allegra!" Wailed Molly. She suddenly found herself flung out of her Uncle's arms and into Molly's embrace. Her shirt became soaking wet from the older woman's tears.
"W-when I heard what had happened, good lord, I-I-I...I thought I failed Isabella. I thought I broke my last promise to her," she sobbed.
Allegra felt terrible. She had underestimated how much her being gone would've affected those around her.
"H-how did you all do it," Molly sniffled pulling away. Her Uncle quickly held her again.
Harry walked over to the desk and laid upon it the Sorting Hat, Sword, and what remained of Tom's diary. He spent the next half hour explaining everything, minus her break down in the Chamber. How Hermione had realized the monster was a Basilisk. The three of them following the spiders into the Forbidden Forest where Aragog told them where the last victim of the Basilisk died. They put two and two together and found out Moaning Myrtle had been the victim, and that the entrance to the Chamber was possibly in her bathroom. When they asked how she'd gotten there since she disappeared early on in the day, Allegra told them she was walking in the corridor of Myrtle's bathroom before getting knocked out and taken to the Chamber.
"Very well," nodded McGonagall. "You three found where the entrance was- breaking a hundred school rules along the way, I might add, but how on earth did you all get out of there alive?"
Harry told them about the Phoenix's arrival and the Sorting Hat giving him the Sword. Then he faltered, and Allegra knew why. He hadn't explicitly mentioned Tom's diary yet.
