Harry was cleared to leave the infirmary before Cedric. Allegra decided to stay with Cedric until he was discharged before joining her fellow Gryffindors for the festivities. When her boyfriend finally was given the go ahead to leave, he asked if he could walk her up to Gryffindor Tower. Despite the Hufflepuff basement being in the opposite direction.

"I'm glad you're all healed now," she noted, caressing the side of Cedric's face that had been burned. It looked good as new.

"Thank Merlin it was nothing serious enough to owl my parents about," said Cedric. "Though I can imagine no matter what happens to me in the tournament, my dad would tell me to push through it and my mom would tell me to quit."

"I have half a mind to pull you out of the tournament," grumbled Allegra. "This is just the first task and a bloody dragon almost burned you to crisps. What's next?"

"That's what I'm trying to figure out," quipped Cedric, tapping on his golden egg. "Crouch said the next task is February 24th. In the meantime we have to try to open this egg because inside is a clue that will help us prepare for the second task. So essentially, if I can't open this egg, I'm absolutely screwed."

"I can ask my uncle if you'd like?" She added cheekily.

Cedric gave her a pointed look. "That's cheating, Allegra."

She scoffed. "Oh please, everybody cheated on the First task. None of you were supposed to have any idea you were going to face dragons, yet all of you did."

"I want to figure it out on my own. That's the fun of it," whined Cedric.

"I thought it was eternal glory?"

"Among other things."

They began climbing the moving staircase up to Gryffindor tower. They were soon in front of the portrait of the Fat Lady. Allegra could faintly hear loud music from inside.

"I have a question," asked Cedric suddenly. Allegra stared at him quizzically.

He's nervous.

"What is it?"

He spoke in a strong, clear voice. "I want to hear it from you...why did you leave it up to Harry to warn me about the first task?"

Allegra shrugged. "I figured it was something that should be discussed amongst champions. Plus, Harry himself was the one who saw the dragons and seemed very eager to tell you. I initially said I would, but he volunteered. I didn't think it was a big deal. Why, are you upset?"
