Platform Nine-and-Three-Quarters was filled to the brim. There was a cacophony of shouting, laughing, and owls hooting. The steam from the Hogwarts Express wafted through the sultry summer air.
A wary circle of space had formed around a certain pair. At first glance they would seem like just another father and daughter. Wealthy without a doubt by their dark, chic polished clothes and poised posture. But if you were close enough and looked at them head on, one would be fascinated. Transfixed at how alluring the brooding man and serene little girl seemed. The man with his effortless, powerful frame accompanied by an overwhelmingly handsome face. The girl with her willowy, graceful frame with dark locks cascading down her backside.
"I guess this is where we say goodbye," sighed Caspian bittersweetly.
Allegra playfully rolled her eyes, but a subtle warmth filled her as she absorbed her Uncle's array of emotions: joy, unease, affection, sadness. It was an unusual mix, but it showed he cared. Not that she needed confirmation anyways.
"I promise I'll come home for Yule. Won't start ditching the manor during winter break at least until fourth year," she said. At this her Uncle's brows furrowed, and his lips set into a thin line. Allegra sighed and wrapped her arms around his waist. She relished in the familiar smell of cigars and musky cologne. She let the familiarity mellow her into complete serenity before closing her eyes and focusing on where her skin toughed his. His body relaxed, but then came the inevitable.
"Allegra-"
"I know I know, not outside the manor, but you're always so stressed out and worried, and I won't see you for the next four months, and I usually d-"
"Allegra," he repeated firmly, immediately shutting her up. She peered up at him beneath her long lashes; sapphire blue eyes meeting onyx ones.
"I'm not...angry with you, but you know how it bothers me when you do that outside the manor. I needn't think I had to remind you not to use your abilities at Hogwarts. Again," he lectured.
"I'm sorry," she spoke gently, just loud enough to be heard over all the raucous. She saw some sort of conflict tumble through her Uncle's eyes before he sighed heavily and hugged her once more.
"Don't take the bracelet off," she barely heard him murmur before he said in a louder voice, "be good Allegra. I love you."
"Love you too Uncle Casp," she mumbled into his coat.

Allegra slid open the familiar compartment door. She had no time to set her things atop the rack before a honey blonde girl tackled her in a hug. The overall bubbliness radiating off her friend, added with her expansive touch, was almost nauseating. She took a deep breath and let her hands drop her owl cage and trunk onto the floor.
