Vol. 4 Ch. 23 Reconnecting With Love

3rd Person POV

After she finished cutting the Sea Feilong's wing, Blake began to fall towards the ground. As the rock below her began to come closer, a pair of strong arms wrapped around her. As the ground got closer, she closed her eyes. A loud boom and a crack soon echoed out through the open ocean. Blake slowly opened her eyes to see she was safely in the arms of Y/N. She gasped as she gazed up at the man with white hair and light blue eyes. She couldn't believe it, she was being held bridal style by a man she thought to be dead. "B-but?" Blake stuttered as she looked up at her savior who just smiled down at her and said, "Miss me, Kitty?"

The heavy cannon fires and hits the Grimm dead on. Its upper half is blasted to pieces, and it dies immediately. The boat burst into cheers and applause. On their rock, Y/N celebrated while Blake smiled and lowered her head in relief.

Your POV

I let out a sigh of relief and said, "That was a close one, I thought that thing would never die." Blake turned and glared at me. I looked at her confused and said, "What?" With a cry, Blake swung her arm around and slapped me in the face. Once we were back on the boat, I held my cheek, which still hurt from Blake slapping me. Blake crossed her arms and said, "What are you two doing here?" I replied, "I didn't want to lose the love of my life! I didn't fight to stay alive after fighting Adam for no reason. As for monkey boy, he insisted that he come along." Blake looked at us and said, "Have you two been following me?" I hesitated and Sun said, "I saw you run off. The night after Beacon Tower fell. Once we landed in Vale, you made sure everyone was okay. And then you just took off, without saying anything." Blake replied, "I had to. You wouldn't understand." I grumbled and said, "Can't understand if you're not around to explain." Then Sun said, "No, I get it! The moment you left, I knew exactly what you were doing!" I looked at him in shock and said, "Huh? You do?" Blake smiled at him, pleased at feeling understood. Then he said, "You're going on a one-woman rampage against the White Fang!" Blake's happy expression falls and I facepalmed. Blake replied, "No, I'm not. I'm going home." I looked at Sun and asked, "Hey Sun, could you give us a moment?"

After he left, I looked over to see Blake leaning on the rail as she looked over the water. I smiled, she looked beautiful under the moonlight. Her raven hair flowed perfectly behind her, her cat ears twitching slightly due to the wind, and the curves of her body that fit perfectly with her new outfit. I felt as if I fell in love with her all over again. I walked slowly over to her, cautious. The last time I got within reach of her, I was slapped so hard I thought I would die for real. As I got closer, I leaned on the railing next to her and said, "I like the new look." Blake looked at me and said, "You wanted Sun to leave just so you could say that?" I shook my head and said, "No, it wasn't. Do you have any idea how much you hurt me when I found out that you left? I mean that you left without telling the people who care for you anything... that hurts me more than you think." I felt a tear slowly descend from my check, the silent night being able to hide that fact from most, but of course not from a Faunus like her, who had night vision. Blake looked at me and said, "Y/N..." I continued and said, "Look, I don't know what you're going through either. But we promised that we'd be there for each other, so I'm here even if you don't want me here." I felt a sudden embrace around me, wet tears being felt as they came into contact with my shirt. Then I heard Blake say, "I'm sorry..." I hug her back, rubbing her back in the meanwhile to comfort her.
