3rd Person POV

It is daytime in Menagerie, birds tweet in the trees around the balcony outside Ghira's study. Inside, a shirtless Y/N lies on the couch, his head propped on the arm and his hands folded over his abdomen. He has a bloodied bandage on his left shoulder where Ilia's weapon had struck him.

Your POV

I blinked awake and raised my head, groaning in pain as I did, and said, "Blake?" I saw her sitting in a chair across from the couch I was on, her body facing me. Her head was bowed and her hands are folded in her lap. She said, "This... is why, Y/N. This is why I left them all behind. Why I left you..." I sat up and said, "What are you...?" Blake got up, walked over to the couch, and said, "I am done seeing my friends hurt because of me." She sat down next to me. I placed my hand on hers and said, "Blake..." She pulled her hand away from mine and said, "Shut up! Do you think I like being alone? Every day... every day I think about them! Ruby, Weiss, Yang, and you... especially you... you were all my friends! I loved all of you like I never thought I could love anybody even through all the up and downs... And I hope they all hate me for leaving, and I wished you would've hated me for leaving." I sighed and said, "Listen to yourself for a second, Blake." She stood up and replied, "I have, and the more things go on the more I'm proven right! Everyone thinks they can help me but they can't." She sat down and said, "You saw Ilia last night and she's not even the worst! No. No more. You were better off without me, everyone is. I made my choices and I'll deal with the consequences because they belong to me." I looked at her and said, "You think you're being selfless, but you're not. Yeah, that chameleon friend of yours got me pretty good. But I'd do it all again if it meant protecting you. Especially since I love you so much." Blake looked at me, surprised and I said, "And I can promise Yang would say the same." Blake turned away, looking down.

I sat up fully, with effort and said, "You can make your own choices, sure. But you don't get to make ours. When your friends fight for you, it's because we want to. So stop pushing us out! It hurts more than anything the bad guys could ever do to us. It hurts me more than anything that any of my exes have ever done to me." I looked at the floor and Blake, who had turned to face me, turned away again. Then I said, "But, if it makes you feel any better, the next time I go up against Lizard Girl, it won't be for you─it'll be to get even." Blake looked at me and I looked into her mesmerizing amber eyes. Then we leaned in to kiss. But before we could, the door behind Blake, the same one that Sun crashed, crashes down again. This time it was Kali embarrassing herself by eavesdropping too closely. Behind her, Ghira looked down at his wife on the ground with his hand on his hip. Kali popped upwards again and said in an affected tone, "Oh! Oh dear, would you look at that, he's awake! Thank goodness!" Ghira covered his face with his hand and said, "Kali, please." Blake and I pulled away from each other embarrassed and Blake said, "Mom!"

Blake got up, walked over to her mother, and asked, "What are you doing?!" She replied, "Well, sweetheart, your father needed to speak with the two of you." Blake looked at her confused and said, "Huh?" Then Ghira said, "I'm afraid you were right to be suspicious." Blake said, "What do you mean?" Ghira replied, "Adam Taurus is planning to overthrow the leader of the White Fang, and stage a full-scale attack on Haven Academy. It would be the Fall of Beacon all over again." Then Sun came into the room and said, "Not if we destroy the White Fang once and for all." I sighed and Blake said, "No." She stood up, full of decision, and said, "We're not going to destroy the White Fang." She looked at me as she smiled and added, "We're going to take it back."

Weiss' POV

The Atlesian pilot finished counting the Lien I gave him and said, "Okay, you can hide out back in the cargo hold. I'll take you as far as I can, but if we get caught, you're on your own. Understand?" I nodded affirmatively and boarded the Airship. I found somewhere to sit in the cargo hold and sat down. As the Airship took off, I looked out the window and said to myself, "I'm doing this not just for me, but for you, Y/N. I miss you so much, brother. I know that you'll be watching over me though."

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter.
