Chapter 16

Chapter 16 - First impressions

I stepped out of the black SUV and walked towards the back doors to the building we were doing the first day of auditions in. We stopped at a hotel last night after my chat with Niall and I woke up early to head here. Honestly I'm really really nervous. I know most people think 'she's famous, she does this all the time, why would she be nervous?' Well that's not always the truth. I've already met L.A Reid and I think I'll be fine with Britney because... She's actually a girl. So what am I worried about? The man who is walking towards me right now. Simon Cowell.

He's hard to please and he's close to Niall... What if I let something slip?
Ugh!
Just smile Demi!
Just smile.

"Ahh.. Demi Lovato. Pleasure to meet you." Simon said, his thick British accent reminding me of the boys. "You too Simon." I have him my best smile. "We start soon. The rest of the judges are waiting at the judges table. Follow me."

I followed him down the hall, turned right, then left, than left again, then into the audition room. Wow! This place is huge! I sat down in between Britney and Simon. L.A was on the other side of Britney. We all got along well together. After about 10 minutes of bonding a worker came in telling us we will be starting soon.

A few minutes after that everyone was seated and the first person to audition walked out onto the stage. "Hi, I'm Paige Thomas!" She said waving and walking out on stage. Lets just say she was definitely the perfect way to start the show! ..And she definitely made it through.


*2 Hours Later*


Wow. That was.. Just wow.. Some of those people were amazing and some were honestly terrible.

I turned my chair around and followed L.A, Britney, and Simon back stage into the 'green room'. I sat down in a comfy chair as every one else [including staff] did; scattered around the room drinking, eating, and just relaxing. I was drinking some water and mentally preparing myself for tomorrow when Simon walked over to me and sat down looking right at me. It kind of scared me.

My eyes met his and I said, "Hello." with the least shakiest voice I could. "How was you're first day?" He asked. I shrugged. "Interesting." "Good." He said. There was an long awkward silence.
I decided to break it, not sure if it would help our 'bond' or if I would regret it.
But I decided to take a chance.
"By the way, Niall says hi."
