in the infirmary. will is annoyed bc nico shadow travelled too much again
"Nico whatever your middle name is di Angelo," fumed Will. "If I hear about you shadow-travelling for another six months I swear to all the gods I will-"
"Six months?" repeated Nico incredulously. "No."
"Who's the doctor here? I am. And I'm telling you to refrain from shadow-travel for six bloody months, it's not as though you've only got six months left to live-"
"I'll shadow-travel whenever the hell I want, Solace," interrupted the son of Hades.
"Nico!" Will huffed in exasperation. "I can't help you if you don't let me do my job."
"I've told you time and time again, I don't want or need your help! I don't understand why it's so hard for you to let it go." He turned away.
"Because I really like you and I want you to like me back but that'll never happen because we're polar opposites and-"
"What?"
"Oh, gods. Oh gods oh gods oh gods, did I say that out loud?" panicked Will.
"Yes," smirked Nico. "You have twenty two seconds to explain yourself, go."
"Well... uh, I... um..."
"Listen, Solace, if you don't repeat that right now, I'll-"
Nico never got a chance to finish his ultimatum because Will pressed his lips onto Nico's briefly before either of them could even think about what he was doing.
Will broke the kiss.
"Oh, gods, I'm so sorry, Nico, I don't know what I'm doing."
"Yeah, I don't know either, but come here and do it again."
Will looked up at him and Nico smirked.
"Well?"
Will gently grabbed the side of his face and kissed him like it was about to be made illegal. Nico pulled him closer and melted into the kiss. Will's lips were so warm... everything about him was so sunny...
When they broke away, Nico looked down a little shyly. "So, uh, were you gonna finish your sentence from earlier?"
"I really like you," whispered Will. "And it's crazy, 'cause I never thought you'd even think of me that way."
"I didn't even think you were gay," said Nico quietly.
"Are you kidding? I've been out since I got here, when I was twelve, or maybe even eleven."
"Oh. Well, um..."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I just- what are we?" asked the son of Hades quickly.
"What do you want us to be?" Nico thought he was joking, but Will was serious.
"I..."
"You can say no, but hypothetically if I asked you to be my boyfriend, then-"
"Yes."
"Okay, then I'll see you at Half Blood Hill at 8pm tomorrow." Will winked, and then stretched a little. "No shadow-travel."
Nico sighed. "Fine." Some things never changed.
