"Annie, did you get the paint when you went to the store?" Rachel called out, frustrated. After digging through the shopping bags for five minutes with no paint, she was ready to call it a day and go to sleep, even though it was only 17:12. However, she had a deadline for midnight tomorrow, and when she'd run out of paint a couple of hours ago, Annabeth had told her she'd pick some up.
"Um... no?" Annabeth bit her lip, and Rachel sighed.
"It's okay, I'll finish this tomorrow," said Rachel. She put the lettuce she was holding back into the bag, and Annabeth snaked her arm around Rachel's waist, resting her head on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry, babe," she whispered. "I wasn't really sure what to get, and the paint you normally use wasn't where it's meant to be, and they were closing, and it was just kind of stressful."
"Hey, it's okay," Rachel assured her, pulling Annabeth into a hug and kissing her forehead gently. When she went to pull away, Annabeth grabbed her and pulled her back, into a fierce kiss.
"That project can definitely wait until tomorrow," she whispered, grey eyes meeting green. Her girlfriend pulled her into another kiss, and she melted at the touch of their lips. This was going to turn out to be Annabeth's favourite night this week.
