Charles Beckendorf has absolutely no idea what was going on. First, Silena Beauregard comes into the workshop, and asks him to teach her to forge weapons, when he didn't think she'd even held a knife in her life. She's the prettiest girl at camp - head councillor of Cabin 10, mainly just gives advice and does people's make-up, and is always doing stuff that's aesthetically pleasing. So why is she wasting her time teaching him how to ride a Pegasus?
Silent Beauregard's life is meant to be perfect. Head councillor, relationship advisor, role model to all her siblings, the 'aesthetic' one and the 'pretty' girl - it should all be great. Trouble is, she's pining after a boy from Hephaestus's cabin that'll never notice her, not in a million years, despite her best efforts to get closer to him. Many times, Silena has wished she had a role model, someone to look up to, ask questions and get answers from, be able to properly relax with.
Soon, maybe. But not soon enough.
