haven't written any proper solangelo fluff in too long so here it it

Will Solace is a barista, and that means he meets new people every day. So, it makes sense that he'd be used to it by now, right?

So why is it when that handsome stranger walks through the door he just loses it?

Will's not really sure what it is about him. Maybe it's the aviator jacket - clearly, he has good taste. Maybe it's his hair - it frames his face prettily. Maybe it's the chains - he's wearing a couple of silver ones round his neck, and a ring on his finger to match.

"Hey, what can I get for ya?" Will asks him pleasantly.

"Oh, just a hot chocolate, please." Apparently, he felt the need to explain why he wasn't getting coffee or anything heavy to match his style. "I'm meeting my friend, and she hates when I drink coffee - tells me off every time. Also, conversations with her tend to be a little... hard to stomach."

Will raised an eyebrow. "Friend, huh?" He asked, pulling a cup off the stack and uncapping a pen.

"Oh, no, it's- we're just friends," he said quickly. "Reyna's like a sister to me; I guess our conversations are a little harder because she reaches out more than I'm used to." He sighed. "And there I go again, over-sharing to random strangers."

"Oh, don't worry about it, everyone does sometimes," Will assured him. "Can I get a name for your order?"

"Oh, uh, sure," he said, cringing noticeably. Why? Will couldn't tell you, but it was very cute. "It's Nico."

"Hm, that's a nice name," said Will, writing it down on his cup and beginning to make his drink.

"Oh. Thanks."

"No problem," he answered, smiling at him. He blushed a little - HE BLUSHED! AHHHHH! - and twisted his ring around his finger.

Before long, his order was ready. Will slipped a heat cover over the cup so that Nico's hands wouldn't burn holding it for too long, and discreetly added his number under Nico's name.

"Here's your order, Nico," Will said, presenting it to him with a flourish.

Nico laughed. "Thanks, Will," he said, reading Will's name tag.

It was only later, when Reyna pointed out the phone number written on his cup, that he realised that maybe he should go to that coffee shop more often.
