Aru POV

Six months later

I stared at the gigantic asura in front of me. It let out a deafening roar, nearly bursting my eardrums. I whipped out Vajra; the asura charged. I considered calling Brynne and Mini, but they would never make it time. I barely managed to roll out of the way as he brought his massive fists down. The asura growled as he threw a tree at me. I ducked and dodged his attacks, my heart racing. I transformed Vajra into a hoverboard and landed on top of the asura's bullhead. Vajra was a spear in my hands in no time and I stabbed the spear into his skin. The asura roared and flung me from his back. I landed on the ground with a thud, the wind knocked out of me. From the corner of my eye, I saw a hooded figure emerge. The asura charged towards me yet again, and I barely managed to stand up. With Vajra still in my hands, I braced myself. I saw the hooded figure, race up the asura's back and stab it with some kind of sword. That was enough time for me to will Vajra into a chakra. Vajra cut through the air in a spinning arc and wiped the asura's head straight off its body. I steadied myself, and looked up to thank the hooded figure but my words died on the tip of my tongue. I finally got a good look at his weapon. It-it was a scimitar. In a flash, I had flipped over the hood of the figure, and I froze. "Ai-Aiden?" I hadn't seen him in six months. I looked him up and down, and noticed a tattoo on his arm, it was Sanskrit for cursed? before I could figure out what that meant, the cold look in his eyes as he told me didn't love me anymore, the nasty words he had told me came rushing back to me. I snarled," You." as if he had snapped out of a trance, Aiden's eyes widened he and turned and ran. I heard a thud, like something had fallen, but I stood frozen in disbelief as he ran away from me, just like he had before.

*Time skip*

I walked back home, my mind a flurry of thoughts. I just couldn't stop thinking about my interaction with Aiden. My mind kept circling back to the tattoo I saw on his arm. It had kinda looked like it had been burned into his skin. My eyes fell to the book in my hands. It had been what had fallen when he had run away. The book was relatively small, and I could see it was Aiden's diary. I hated myself for taking an interest, but I wanted to see if I could figure out why he left. I probably should've just thrown away the diary, but a part of me still loved him, even if he didn't return my feelings.

This was a short chapter, but the next one will be longer, I promise.
