Now can we go? I shouted at the girls. They were taking forever, and Rudy and I had been forced to wait in the hallway. It was very boring. " Yes, yes" Aru shouted back. Rudy and I trudged into the living room, and Rudy looked them over." you guys almost look as good as me" "thanks!' said Mini brightly, but then she frowned once she caught on that it was a typical Rudy compliment. Which is to say, it wasn't one. I, however, didn't say anything. I just looked from Mini to Brynne and finally Aru. My gaze lingered on her for a fraction too long. she looked beautiful as always. The yellow pants looked good on her, but that's not what made her look enchanting, the fact that she was aware of the fact that she looked beautiful was. The way she held herself with confidence and the way the sparkle in her eyes shone brighter than ever, made her look truly look like the daughter of thunder. I was snapped out of my thoughts when Aru asked me," Aren't you going to agree we look awesome?" She lifted her chin, a challenge defiant in her eyes. " You look..." I started, but I glanced away abruptly. she looked stunning, majestic, perfect, but I couldn't tell her that. I remembered my mother's heartbroken expression whenever she recalled my dad, The misery in her beautiful brown eyes. If she wasn't right about love, how could I be? Not that Aru would break my heart, she would never, but I was scared of breaking hers. What if I turned about to be like my dad? I couldn't bear to see that same look of pain on Aru's face. I always tried to neglect my feelings for Aru, but It was hard to do so sometimes. So instead of telling her how she truly looked, I went with a flat" Fine" Aru looked hurt, but then she was back to her normal self in a second as if I had imagined the look of hurt on her face. As she marshalled everyone to the door, I couldn't help but notice how she avoided making eye contact with me.
