Aru shah one-shots

Me having a downward spiral over a sneak peek

Like many of you, I had a breakdown over the Nectar of Immortality sneak peek and I had a very strong urge to share my thoughts. This is very informal and just brushes over what I thought about the sneak peek and what I hope will be in the next book. I will be releasing a review of book 5 which will articulate my thoughts better. 

I hope you enjoy this chapter and I'll try to be more regular with my uploading schedule!

1:

The main hype around the nectar of immortality is of course the infamous prophecy and whether Aiden will actually die and stay dead. As for me, I think that Aiden will make it out alive. 

It does somewhat depend on what the theme and the message of the book is and if Roshni wants to tackle the themes of love and grief I feel like killing Aiden won't be the best way to do it. it would end the series on a very bitter note and won't really leave the books with anywhere else to go since such a major component of the potatoes is gone.

I think it would be better if the sleeper was killed since not only would it leave us with the question of whether we should grieve/forgive the sleeper who has been very wronged but has done wrong as well. 

Essentially I hope Aiden doesn't die purely for shock value and I guess I would be open to Aiden dying but only if it's done right. Of course, considering that I would cry for days and slip into a very depressed state of my mind as I ponder the meaning of life and how little all our existences matter in the grand scheme of things-

Something that was very interesting in the sneak peek was that we got Kara's POV and, to be honest, I did sympathise with her character a little bit. 

I left City of gold disliking her character mainly because she was presented as very innocent but some of her actions were very mean. like when she forgot to include Aru in her plan which could be an honest mistake but it just felt kind of shady. Imagine forgetting the person who rescued you. 

Admitting her feelings to her sister's crush even when she probably knew that Aru liked Aiden since she had kinda been spying on them and you can see that aru and Aiden like each other from a mile away. Also, I don't buy the "I don't like to keep secrets" thing because that's your sister and as someone who values family you would want to help your sister instead of actively sabotaging her chances. I will admit that a big part in me not liking kara is because she's getting in the way of my  OTP so she better back off. 

However, Kara just wants a family and people who love and care for her which is honestly incredibly sad and by being blind to the sleeper's manipulation, Kara is unknowingly adopting the wrong method to achieve what she desires. Which does make sense with her being the reincarnation of Karna who did have a heart of gold but valued loyalty above everything else and in the process did commit several crimes. Karna did die at the hands of Arjuna so I'm curious to see if Kara will die as well.

Another thing in the sneak peek is that Aiden is ignoring aru and acting like she is invisible which I did predict would happen but I'm still offended. 

Regardless of that, I must admit that I really want to have an Aru and Aiden fight scene. I think it would be really interesting to explore 2 people who have such a deep connection with each other be willing to inflict what degrees of harm on each other especially since they are so vulnerable to each other. I am kinda obsessed with it simply because of the dRaMa.

On Instagram, Roshani gave a brief look into the chapter titles and one of them is titled 'Youll be the death of me' and at first I thought it was going to be melancholy or really sappy and sweet but my forever backstabbing mind thought what if it was said in a bitter tone. something along the lines of  "how could i ever be with you, you'll literally be the death of me shah!" It's not very likely but it would definitely be a successful, albeit infuriating and depressing, misdirect.
