the chapter starts with the characters paddling on their fallen log. At one point something bangs into them its a corpse of a purgatoris
yar; " evreyone look away keep padling away "
they continue to row and row until but now its clear their are hundreds of burnt mammal corpses floating in water a pteranadon flies overhead until a pleiosaurus sticks its head out of the water and grabs the pterosaur with its jaw and pulls it to the water.

after gobbling up the pteranadon it looks dead at the family before swiming towards them maw open when suddenly a mosasaurus bursts out of the water biting down on the the pleiosaurus and eating it.

aladar; " theirs always a bigger fish "
they paddle further away until the mosasaurus dives back in the water creating a massive splash causing a wave to push the characters to the beach.
we then cut to black
we transition the next day to aladar laying on the sand unconcious. He opens his eyes and gets up shaking his wet feathers as he does so. He see's his family get up they all hudle together hugging he goes to them but briefly stops. He doesnt feel he is included doesnt feel he is belonged.
zini; " hey bro! your alive to! "
aladar; " yeah barely, what do we do now? "
yar; "i-i dont know "
plio; " we need a new home "
evreyone nods and walk across the sand eventualy it becomes so hot on their small mammal feet they need to ride on aladars back.
aladar see's some footprints and looks at his own.
aladar; " their-their like me "
yar; " aladar we need to get out of here "
aladar; " why "
plio; " yes dad why? "
suddenly a loud call is heard. Aladar steps towards the canyon where he hears it. It sounds more like anything that he has heard before.
