Serial Killer

chapter 9

      When they arrived the police station, Both Emma and Sophia got out of the car and rushed inside. They saw Jason on the other end of the corridor and walked towards him.

     “Where is he Jason?” Sophia asked approaching him. “He was taken to the investigation room.” Jason replied and three of them walked towards the investigation room.

    As they entered the control room they saw David on one end of the table and Jason’s twin James with his hands tied behind his back on the other end of the table through a glass wall.

    “So James, who is helping you?” David asked to which the boy smiled evilly.

    “You’ll find out soon detective.” He smirked. At this David got angry and slammed his fist on the table “Don’t play with me.” David shouted at the boy and he just shrugged.

     David rises from his seat and walk close to him. “I’m asking you one last time James, who is this J.H?” David asked with anger in his tone.

    “I’m sorry, I’m not suppose to tell th--” before he could finish his sentence David’s fist collided with his face. His head snapped to the other side with force.

   David grabbed his hair and turned his face. His nose was bleeding and then he started laughing. “What’s so funny huh?” David asked through gritted teeth and became more angry.

  “You just wait and watch.”He said, at this David slammed his head against the iron table and the boy groaned in pain.

   “You’re a useless piece of shit.” David said and walked into the control room.

   “Next time, your gonna ask him. Maybe he answers you. For now go home, it’s already too late.” David said to Jason and walked out rolling his sleeves down.

    The next day, When Sophia came to the police station she saw Emma busy on her phone and walked toward her.

   “Hi.” Sophia said and Emma replied with a “hello.” But her tone was a bit off. “What happened Emma?” Sophia asked.

   At this Emma turned her phone towards Sophia and showed her what she was watching earlier.

“The serial killer case takes another turn, another girl gets kidnapped and the police claims to catch one of the serial killer’s disciples.”

 “It’s the top headline now.” Emma sighs. “And what about James, Did he said something?”Sophia asked.

   “Not at all, Jason is in the investigation room trying to make him talk.” Emma replied.

    “Well than, let’s go and see what he says.” Sophia said and both of them walked to the investigation room.

   As the both enter the dimly lit control room, they saw David sitting at a seat near the control panel, his eyes focused at the twins. They both also stood infront of the glass wall and heard them talk.

  “James, please don’t make it hard for yourself and answer me, who helped you escape from the jail?” Jason asked his brother with an annoyed tone which showed that he has been trying for a long time.

  “Why are you even interested in knowing who helped me at the first place, it’s not like any of you ever cared about what I did? Neither Mom cared nor dad.” James said in anger and jealousy.

   “James, I’m not here to talk about our family relations. This is a serious issue and I want you to co-operate and answer me.” Jason said trying to compose his anger.

  “Serious issue my foot, I don’t wanna answer any of your questions, stop wasting your time and leave me alone.” James spat.

  “Well then I guess I would have to use my own ways to get the information out of him.” David says as he leans forward and speaks through the mice.

    “Jason come out of there now it’s no use, he’s quite stubborn.” He releases the button and stood up.

   “That’s right officer, it’s no use cuz I’m not gonna say a word.” James said catching everyone’s attention.

   “Very well then.” David says as he walks out. As he walks out he gets stopped when he hears his name being called.

   “Mr. David?” Sophia calls him and he turns around. “Everything okay Ms. Harvey?” David asks softly which catches Sophia with surprise cuz she expected the same rude reaction.

     “Umm... Yea, Well I wanted to ask what did you meant by your own ways in there.” Sophia asked.

     “What do you think Ms. Harvey?” David asked in a relaxed tone.

     “I-I don’t know what exactly you meant but..........” Sophia was confused but then she eventually understood by what he meant “Hold on are you gonna beat him?” she asked shocked.

   At this David Smirked “Pretty much, Ms. Harvey.” And turned around.

  “Wait!” Sophia said and he turned back. “Do you have to beat him; I mean there could be another way of handling this. I’m not really in favor for violence.” She said.

“We have our ways Sophia, plus you wanna get the girl back to her parents, do you?” David said she stood there silent.

    He walked towards her and placed a hand on her shoulder. “We have to do this Sophia, if not; no one knows how many lives we might lose.” David said and she sighed and nodded. He smiled at her and walked away.

     Later that day, it was almost seven p.m. when Sophia and Emma were sitting in the office, Jason walked in with two cups of coffee in his hands.

   “Here, its freezing outside. I thought that coffee would help.” Jason said giving the cups to Sophia and Emma.

  “How thoughtful Jason.” Emma said and both of them thanked him as he sat down. “So, Jason how is he, I mean that did he say anything useful?” Emma asked.

   “No, not at all.” Jason replied. “Well than it’s up to David now.” Emma said.

  Suddenly the corridor filled with rushing sound and an ambulance siren could be heard getting closer.

  The three of them frowned and as soon as Jason walked to the door he saw paramedics running in the direction of the cell where James was. At this Jason rushed after them followed by Sophia and Emma.

  “I hope David didn’t just kill him.” Emma said.  “What are you saying, David is not even here.” Sophia said as Jason pushed the door open.

  She gasped at the sight infront of her, James lied on the floor surrounded by paramedics, blood oozing out of his nose and mouth as his body shook hysterically.  Soon his shaking and gasping stopped.

  Jason looked at the doctor worried for his brother and asked “What happened?”

   “He’s dead.” The doctor replied. Just then the cellar door burst open and David walked followed by Mr. Mckeller.

  “Dammit.” David said running a hand through his hair. “What was this?” Sophia asked the doctor. “He poisoned himself.” The doctor replied putting a little bottle of poison in the plastic bag.

  “Mr. David, the dead body is sent to the hospital.” A police officer said coming in.

   “B-Body?  W-hat what body......” Sophia asked, David looked everywhere but her “...... David answers me, who is it?” Sophia said approaching him.  

   “Samantha is found dead.......... ”
