YEAR 2090

The scent of the good porridge called lugaw, the cool breeze of 6:00 am while the sun slowly rises.

The sound of the singing birds and the chickens that runs around to greet and wake everyone in the morning.

"Manang Pepay! There's a foreigner outside! His looking for a bread. He kind of forgot what it's called! "

Manang Pepay hurriedly went to her sari-sari store to see what the foreigner is looking for.

"Yes, Sir? You're looking for a bread? "She smiled.

"Ahh yes, yes." He chuckled.

"It's this bread with a spread? It's sweet and brown-ish colored. "

"Oh! That bread must be monay? "

"Yes! And the spread? "

"Coco jam, Sir! ". She smiled.

"Yes! It became my favorite since we last visit here and now I'm back and craving for it ". He smiled and scratched the back of his head.

"Ok! I'll go get it for you then. "

"I'll buy three of it! "

Manang Pepay went back with a color red plastic back with the monay in it.

"That's 18 pesos. "She smiled.

"Everything here is cheap and I'm glad! "He handed the 20 pesos.

"I know I still have 2 pesos as a change and it's not that much but please just keep it.

Oh! How do you say thank you in Tagalog again? "He smiled.

"Salamat. "She chuckled.

"Salamat! Salamat! I'll introduce this bread to my girlfriend." He said laughing and obviously not fluent 'Salamat '.

She smiled and nodded; she was nearing her karendirya slowly watching everyone's moves.

Marie was already preparing the fried rice she was busy with the garlic in the mortar and pestle while the others was cooking tapa and egg.

"Are the silogs ready?! "Shouts Kiko from the karendirya.

"Almost! "

Manang Pepay smiled while looking at her hard-working daughter and son, when a guy called her, she quickly changed her vision to that person.

"My darling! "Said the guy inside the jeepney wearing a polo and dark old jeans, tanned skin, pointed nose and grayish hair.

He honked the jeepney one time and hopped out of the jeepney. Manang Pepay laughed at his ridiculous husband.

"You're sweating! Come inside and drink water. "She hugged his husband.

Everything was well, the farmers was with their carabao's and the coconut trees was dancing with the flow of the wind.

On the other barrio, the little kids were playing piko and tag.

Others was playing sungka and their mothers was busy washing their clothes while their father was building stuff from the bamboo tree for their home.

Everything was well.

Suddenly there's floating cars huge barricades shaped like buildings and like a high skyscraper. The barricades covered the barrio.

Men wearing dark suited and glasses went out of the floating vehicle, the kids ran to their parents crying.

"Who are these people?! "Screamed the other girl with gritted teeth.
