Chapter 6 - The Heiress

"All hail the princess!"

Said one the of nobles in the court.

Artica Gwyneira is the crowned princess of Gyros. Gyros is the place where all the strongest frost jotuns live.

The place where all the warriors, the gifted, and the royalties are found. The said place is a hidden realm that only those with Jotun blood can enter.

With Artica being the heir of the throne and as a Gwyneira, oracles believed that she will possess the strongest power of her kind.

As the only female heir of her people, Artica was gifted by the Gods with incredible talents and skills. She will be able to access her ancestors' memories and mimic their skills and abilities.

Each major Gods gave Artica gifts or blessings as a welcome for her birth. The Gods are delighted because they knew that they won't have to worry about the jotuns killing themselves.

It is said that she will be the hope and salvation of her community through an unending war. A war that never ended ever since fire and frost jotuns had a fall out on who is to rule all kinds of jotuns.

Sadly, Artica was not able to fight with her people because she was thrown to the Earth's dimension in such an early age. Her mother took her to Earth so that she will be far away from the war and her uncle.

Artica's mother, Elise, did not want her months old daughter to die in the hands of her uncle Aleister so she took her far away from Gyros.

Aleister Gwyneria is the only brother Of Artica's father Freon Gwyneria. Elise always knew that Aleister wanted the throne all by himself. Her husband Freon did not want to believe that his own brother would threaten his daughter's life.

It took Elise years to convince her husband that Aleister is trying to take his throne. Freon and Elise have decided that they should bring Artica away from all the threats in her life.

Aleister learned their plan and decided to get them killed while running away. Elise was the only one that can bring Artica away because her husband must stay behind as the king.

Freon told his wife to take the secret tunnel hidden only for royals to know. The tunnel leads to the exit away from the castle. Elise's plan was to take her daughter to the Agamenon where it will take anyone to Earth.

Only those with pure royal blood and is a pure jotun can make Agamenon work. The only problem is that its far away from the castle. With that Aleister would have an advantage to hunt Elise and her daughter down.

Elise carefully followed Freon's instructions about the turns she have to take. She took a torch by the wall and started to navigate. While Elise was walking through the tunnels, she heard footsteps trailing behind her.

She knew shale was being followed by Aleister's men but she didin't expect it to be soon. She fastened her pace until she was full blown running with her baby.

Elise blocked the tunnel behind her with solid ice, but Elise knew that won't hold them long. She saw the end of the tunnel and ran faster so that she can reach Agamenon as soon as possible.

When she reached the end of the tunnel, she covered it with a thick layer of ice to slow the enemies down. Elise knew that it will not take long for them to catch up, so she kept on running while cradling her baby who is surprisingly calm.

She ran through the forest until she reached the end to the side of the mountain.

Agamenon was located at the top of the mountain inside a cave. Elise used her ice to levitate them both to Agamenon. As they were going up, she saw the men coming their way.

This made her go up faster and create ice rocks with her free hand and throw down at them. By the time They reached the top she ran towards the cave to find Agamenon. A drop of a royal blood is needed to access Agamenon, so Elise slit her palm with ice then let the blood drip down to the cup.

Just when the portal opened Aleister's men reached the top of the mountain. The men tried to run towards them, but it was too late. Elise already entered the portal and closed it on time.

The two arrived at Earth's dimension safely. They arrived inside a cave inside a forest. Elise went out to find a safe place for her daughter.

While walking through the roads, she saw a big house that reads Orphanage.

By the time Elise brought Artica in front of an orphanage, she knew that she will not see her daughter again. As the queen of Gyros, she has to defend her people and fight against their enemies.

Before Elise left her daughter, she took her light blue Sapphire necklace and fur jacket and put it on Artica.

"I'm sorry my princess."

She then kissed her daughter on the forehead one last time then left without another word. Baby Artica started crying when she didn't feel her mother's body around her. The door of the orphanage bursted open after hearing the cries of Artica.

"Oh my!! Another baby! Sisters come and see this child!" A gentle voice said.

"Josephine! What have I told you about opening the doors in the middle of the night?!"

"I am truly sorry sister Clair it's just that I heard the baby outside crying."

Sister Clair sighed in defeat and took the baby in her arms.

"Such a beautiful baby girl."

"Why does the baby have a mark on her shoulder?" Josephine asked.

"I don't know why, my dear." Sister Clair said while touching the mark.

"Oh!"

"Come on now let's go inside. It's freezing out here! The baby might catch a cold."

"Oh, yes right let's go."

With that both ladies came inside the house then closed the door behind them.
