We went to DQ for lunch. Ross was eating like a pig as I was burning my brain. School just gets harder and harder every time.
"You gonna eat that?" referring to my fries.
I laugh. "You're such a pig" I tell him.
He shrugs. "So is that a yes?"
I roll my eyes playfully. "Knock yourself out"
"Sweet!" he says as he takes my fries and starts shoving them in his mouth.
I just look at him and roll my eyes going back to my homework. What is the circumference of the-- ugh! I need a break!
"Ugh! I hate high school!" I complain.
Ross just chuckles at my frustrations. Okay, he would be frustrated like me too if he had to do this much work that's all due this Friday.
"Hey chuckles. You'd be frustrated with all of this homework too if you still attended school" I tell him.
He just shrugs and puts another fry in his mouth.
"Why aren't you in school?" I ask.
"Don't have enough money to put myself in school and besides, I went to jail, I'm pretty sure people don't want a criminal to walk through the school doors"
"You're not a criminal Ross"
"But you said--"
"Okay I know what I said but it was just the shock and sort of rage on my dad for not trusting me and letting him have one of his cellmates be my bodyguard"
That made him chuckle a bit.
"My dad was right though. I shouldn't have judged just by your appearance, I should've learned more about you before I start judging you"
This time he laughed.
"I guess I could give you a chance but don't push the buttons"
He smiles. "Thanks Laura. T-That means a lot to me" he confesses.
"You're welcome" I say smiling back.
I check the time on my phone and see lunch was already over a half hour ago. Oh well. Might as well ditch since all we have is an assembly and some sort of activity.
"What time do you have to go back to school?" Ross ask, like he was reading my mind.
"Yeah we're not going back to school" I tell him.
"How come?" he ask again.
"I don't have any classes after that, just some assembly and a activity that's totally lame that we do every year"
"Oh. Okay then"
"Yeah so tell me when you're done with your food so I can pay and we can get back home" I remind him.
"Okay" and starts shoving food in his mouth again.
Boys and their food.

. . .

We got home. Hilary was waiting for me sitting on the steps. As soon as she saw Ross, she just gave him her million dollar flirty smile. Does she have a thing for him or something? Ross and I get out of the car and walk to the front door where Hilary was.
"Laur, you have lots of explaining to do Hilary says with a stern voice.
I sigh. "I know I do. I'll tell you when we get to my room" I say.
I unlock the door and we all get inside the house. Ross goes up to his room (also known as the guest room), while Hilary and I go upstairs to my room.
"Why is that smokin' guy living here?" she ask me, tapping her foot on the floor with her arms crossed over his chest.
"I didn't know how to tell you but..... Ross, that 'smokin guy' is a cellmate of my dad's" I confess to her.
"So he was in...." she trails.
"Yeah. Jail" I finish her sentence.
"Anyways, Ross was getting released soon and I guess my dad found out. He asked Ross if he could by my body guard, protector if you will. Ross said yes and now here we are" I explain.
"Why does your dad want him to be your protector? Why does your dad even want to give you a protector?"
"I don't know. Maybe he saw Ross as muscle-y guy who could take a punch or something. I also guess that maybe my dad doesn't want anything to happen to me, he doesn't want another person to leave his life like my mom did to him and I" I say.
"So how are you taking this new thing?" she ask.
"Well on day 1, I was a bit harsh on Ross but after talking to him and getting to know him more, I decided to give him a chance"
"Do you..... have a thing for him?" she ask me with a sly smirk on her face.
Ever since Greg and I broke up, she's been trying to get me to date other guys but I just couldn't. On the first week, I'd always break down into tears just seeing a guy with brunette hair and green eyes. It was my first heartache and my first relationship that totally bit me in the ass. I guess I didn't want to get hurt.
"No. I don't Hilary" I say calmly.
"You soooooo like him" she stirs on the 'o'.
"No I do not. Stop putting words in my mouth" I tell her.
"Fine fine fine. So if he's your protector, does that mean he always has to be where ever you are?" she ask.
"Yeah"
"So he's coming to the party?" she ask again.
"Yeah, why? Do you like him?" I ask with a smirk on my face.
"Well I did before but not anymore"
"Oh? How come?"
"Well you're into him and you know the girl code, 'no going after a bestie's man'"
"News flash, he isn't my man"
"Yet"
"Ugh, you're hopeless"
"Thanks. Anyways, I got to go, I'll cya tomorrow though"
I nod. Hilary walks out of my room and I just lay on my bed hugging onto my pillow. I should get to know Ross more, he is gonna be living with me for a while, well I suppose.
