It took a few seconds for your eyes to adjust to the blinding light, a blistering headache clouding your thoughts. The strong scent of blood and decay smothered the room. It was almost suffocating. There was no one in the room. You were alone. Though, you didn't know how long that would be the case.
The room was made of concrete. It was cold and damp. The wooden chair you were tied to dug splinters into your skin. Blood ran down your arm, providing little warmth and staining your skin. You didn't know where you were bleeding from, but judging from the pain you felt, you assumed it was your head.
You couldn't remember what happened or how you got here. Hell, you didn't know where 'here' was. The only thing that you could remember is that you were a hero. At least, you think you were. One of the only memories you had was saving people. Other than that, everything was blank. It didn't make sense. None of this did. What was going on? What had happened?
"Look! They're awake!" An excited voice came out of a speaker somewhere in the room. You jumped, looking around as you tried to find the source of the sound. "Izuku, you turned the microphone on." Another voice noted. You couldn't see the speaker, and you couldn't really tell where it was. The sound seemed to echo all around the room.
"I know I turned it on. That was the whole point. I wanted to see their reaction!" The first voice replied, giggling a little. You assumed this person was Izuku. What he said meant that there were cameras in the room, maybe a sort of one-way glass. "Both of you, shut up! You're giving them hints." A third voice growled. So there were at least three people, and one of them was named Izuku. That name seemed familiar for some reason, but you didn't know why. It struck a sort of chord within you. You struggled in your restraints, the rope digging into your skin.
Bruises littered the skin that was visible on your arms. The sound of footsteps echoing in a nearby hallway caught your attention. You peered forward, into the darkness. You strained your vision, trying your best to see even a little in the pitch black of the other parts of the room. That darkness that always seemed to be creeping closer. Sending shivers down your spine. The dark held secrets. Secrets that you weren't sure you wanted the answer to.
The door to the room you were in opened. Well, you assumed it was the room you were in. The edges of the room had been consumed by shadow. A soft giggle echoed in the concrete room. You tensed, trying your best to see through the darkness, but to no avail. From the shadow, a boy stepped out. His face remained in shadow, but you could see his eyes.
Your gaze met his. His eyes were bright green, his hair a darker shade. He leaned forward slightly, making his huge smile visible. Freckles dotted his cheeks. A shiver ran down your spine. Another boy walked out, just behind the first. He was slightly taller, he seemed more mature. His ash-blonde hair was unkempt and shot out in multiple directions. His eyes were a dark red, similar to the color of blood.
Two... but where was the third? There were three people over the intercom, but only two people in front of you. That was when the third stepped out. He was taller than both of them. His hair was split into two different colors, red and white. His eyes were two different colors, too. Gray and blue. His gaze was cold, apathetic. A mask covered the left half of his face.
The smallest boy giggled again, seeming excited. "This is gonna be so fun!" He exclaimed with a smile. You identified him as Izuku. The ash-blonde rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest. The tallest boy stayed quiet. Izuku frowned. "C'mon, you two. Don't look so stone-faced! We finally get a new toy to play with and you're acting all down in the dumps." He said, seeming disappointed.
The tallest boy looked down at Izuku. "I will admit, I'm excited to see how this doll breaks." He responded, a ghost of a smile shadowing his features. Izuku smiled. "Exactly! See, that's the spirit. Plus, the boss said we're allowed to do whatever we'd like with them!" He exclaimed, the insanity shining in his eyes. You gulped nervously as you stared at the three of them.
The ash-blonde remained silent. His gaze was harsh and judgy. Like he hated you just for existing. Izuku nudged him. "Kacchan, don't be so mean. You'll scare the poor thing~" He teased, looking up at the ash-blonde. His name was Kacchan? You weren't sure that was right. "Shut the fuck up. You know damn well how I like to do things." He spat, shoving the smaller boy away.
The tallest boy looked down at the ash-blonde. "Katsuki, behave. We can't go turning on each other, now can we?" He lectured. The ash-blonde, who you assumed was Katsuki, mumbled something and looked away. So that was two down. You just needed to know the tallest boy's name.
Just at that moment, the tallest boy turned to look at you, as if he could hear your thoughts. He walked closer, leaning down so that your eyes met. "I'm Shoto Todoroki, it's a pleasure to meet you." He said, a slight smirk on his face. You shied back. You didn't like having him so close. Izuku whined. "Hey, no fair! How come you got the suave introduction?" He pouted, crossing his arms.
Shoto softly smiled. "All is fair in love and war, my dear Izuku~" He replied, shrugging. Izuku went up to you next, getting close to your face. "I'm Izuku Midoriya! I hope we can be friends." He introduced himself with a chilling smile. Shoto chuckled slightly. "Izuku, you can't lie to them like that. You know we can't be friends with our pets. Remember what happened last time?" He said, looking down at the small boy.
Last time? So they'd done this before. You glanced at both of them, shifting uncomfortably. Katsuki walked up, shoving the other two out of the way. "Move it, you damn extras! My name is Katsuki Bakugo, don't you dare fucking forget it." His tone was full of venom and anger. He seemed like the type you didn't want to cross.
"Now that the introductions are out of the way..." Shoto trailed off, looking to the side. His demeanor was unpleasant. Suave and charismatic, but scary. His air of control and poise was terrifying.
"The fun can begin."
