You and Katsuki sat in silence for what seemed like forever. Finally, you heard footsteps echoing down the hall. Two pairs. Judging by their pacing, it was Shoto and Izuku. You were proven right as the door opened. "We're back~!" Izuku called happily. It echoed slightly in the concrete room.
You weren't sure if you were glad they were here or not. Izuku went over to you, kissing your cheek. It wasn't the first time he'd done this. He'd started doing it a day or so after you killed Rena. You weren't sure if it was supposed to be comfort, or a showing of his affection. Either way, you didn't care.
Even if you didn't like it, you knew better than to try and stop Izuku. "How was your day, doll? Sorry we couldn't be here. Shoto and I were out on important business!" He explained, smiling. Shoto still stood by the door, his gaze switching from you to Katsuki. Almost like he was suspicious, but not quite. He had too much trust in Katsuki for that. You shrugged. "I-I didn't do much.." You responded, keeping your gaze away.
Izuku frowned. "Well, there isn't exactly much to do in here, huh? That, and Kacchan isn't exactly the best companion." He said. He almost seemed sympathetic. Katsuki got a little pissed off. Izuku was right, but still. "Izuku, refrain from provoking him for now. It's not nice to insult your partner." Shoto noted, still not moving from his spot.
Shoto never seemed to do much when Izuku was around. You weren't too sure why, but you figured it didn't matter. It probably had something to do with his personality. Whenever Izuku was gone, he'd be a lot more teasing. Bolder. You didn't know if this was because he was afraid of Izuku, or if it was just because he didn't want to piss Izuku off.
"I know, I know. It's just no fun if I can't!" Izuku complained, huffing. You were used to him being like this. It was the other side of him that you weren't too sure about. The more mature and more terrifying side. You didn't see it too often, and to be honest, you were glad about that. He was scary, to put it simply. All of them were.
"Later, Izuku. You know we have more important things to worry about." Shoto's tone was no different than normal. Nonchalant. Almost empty. Just like his expression. Well, his expression most of the time. You'd catch him smirking on rare occasions. Like when Izuku and Katsuki got into fights. Or at the mention of someone dying or getting hurt.
Izuku nodded. He knew he had more important things to worry about. But that was no fun. He had loads of problems he needed the solution to, but they could wait. There was one thing that was the most important to him right now. Not that he could say what it was. Not with you there. That would cause a whole new set of problems that he didn't want to deal with.
Izuku was happily hugged onto you, his head on your shoulder. You'd noted that he was a clingy person. He liked to be in contact with you, even if it was something as simple as holding hands. You didn't know if this was intentional or not. It could all be just part of his act. Although, at this point, you weren't sure what was an act and what wasn't.
You weren't even sure if it mattered. Maybe it didn't. Not that you'd know. The only things you did know were from what Katsuki told you, and that wasn't much. Well, and Shoto, but he hadn't told you anything since before, so you didn't really count that. You couldn't help but feel some overlying sense of dread. You could never shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen.
You didn't know what was going to happen, but you knew it'd be something big. You weren't sure how you knew that, but you could just sort of tell. There was tension in the air. Mostly from Katsuki. He seemed nervous, even if he did his best to hide it. You figured he had something planned. Maybe it was an escape. Maybe it was a betrayal. You didn't know. You wouldn't for a while.
"Hey Kacchan, you seem tense. What's that about?" Izuku asked out of what felt like nowhere. You were a little startled by the sudden noise. "It's nothing." Katsuki responded. He probably didn't realize that he seemed nervous. Izuku didn't seem to believe his response, glancing over at Shoto.
Shoto gave a slight nod. You weren't sure what that little interaction had meant, and you weren't sure you really wanted to know. Those two were full of dark secrets and even darker thoughts you wanted nothing to do with. "You can tell us, you know." Shoto cut in, looking over at Katsuki. You wondered if this was some sort of last-ditch attempt to avoid whatever plan they had.
"I'm fine, assholes. Leave me alone." Katsuki huffed, rolling his eyes. You stayed quiet, figuring it was for the best. You didn't really want to talk, anyway. Observing had proved to be more useful. "Katsuki, I thought you knew better." Shoto's tone was darker than usual. Katsuki looked terrified, even if it was just for a second. He quickly replaced his fear with his usual annoyed look.
Katsuki kept his gaze away. "Look, I said I was fine. You don't have to fucking press." His tone was just the slightest bit shaky, but he managed to keep it mostly normal. Izuku seemed displeased with his answer. "I-I think we should leave him alone.." You but in, hoping it would make them stop. You didn't really feel like putting up with another intense fight.
Shoto stopped after that. They could continue this conversation later. "Doll is right. They almost always are~" Izuku smiled, looking at you with what felt like adoration. It made you uncomfortable. You wanted to get out of here. You wanted to remember your past. You wanted to know what had happened. And in time, you would.
