There are no words to describe
The sadness I feel
That you've closed the door
Yet again on our friendship
That I foolishly thought was true
Was it something I said
Or something I did
That turned you away
Or have I hurt you in some way
That I don't understand
It was never my intention
To distress you at all
If only I could know
What I'd done or have said
That made you ignore every message I sent
I'd say I was sorry and mean it you see
Apologising doesn't come easy to me
So these last few words I send you
Come sincerely from within my soul
And the very depths of my heart
Goodbyes bring such sorrow
So many tears and such pain
But I won't be the one
To say our friendship is done
Till you wave the final goodbye
