Your POV

You woke up to the sound of a blaring alarm and Clyde barking, "shut up." You groan as you slap around your beside table to try and hit the snooze button, the red digital letters read 8:00am which was the new time you wake up every morning. It used to be way earlier but your only commute is going into the room beside you.

Swinging your legs while you grab your phone gives a slight head rush but after two seconds the black dots in your vision go away.

It was Friday which is always fun but it was daunting because weekend's were always more boring.

You grabbed some cereal and made your way into your office and let Clyde in because he seemed chill today, you had a knit sweater on that you've worn to work before but now choose to sleep in.

Quickly checking your hair in the black reflection before turning on your computer was something you did a lot these days but, it was nice to roll out of bed and join a call.

Your boss was late so you quickly headed to the kitchen to fill Clyde's bowl and grab some water.

"Good morning!" A voice called from your office, you quickly headed back and acted like you were there the whole time.

"Hey guys!" You cheered, everyone said hi.

"Alright, I've sent out a new email." Your boss paused and waited for everyone to pull it up. "You guys are my team, I want to let you know, your jobs are safe and secure." You felt a wave of relief flood over you, "but, people at your leaves aren't, with the changes and shut downs we will begin tinker people go." You felt guilty for mowing you were safe but at the same time you'd go homeless without this job. "Back to the email, we've come up with seating arrangements and tests to get you guys back into work-" your boss paused at you clicking a button to say you want to speak, "yes, (y/n)?" There was no sigh of annoyance.

"I-I'm really sorry, but I have some respiratory issues," most of the people's faces on the call dropped, "so, I need clearance from my doctor to basically leave my house, I can't come into the office yet... sorry." You added.

"That's perfectly fine, I've seen your puffer before." Your boss smiled, "I'm going to be honest, this call won't affect you then, let me know when you can come back and you'll still be in meetings and all that but really... this is for office workers." She smiled, your boss had always been nice.

"Thank you, I'll be back ASAP." You smile, people quickly turned their mic's on to wish you a safe time and you thanked them before leaving the meeting.

After closing your laptop you needed a breath of breath of air, you stepped outside to be created with a book and a note on your porch.

"Huh, that's weird." You said out loud, the cover read, The Violin: A Social History of the World's Most Versatile Instrument. "What?" You question and walked back inside. The note stood out, it had really neat writing.

(Y/n),
Thanks for the house warming gift, you know me so well!
I know it's pretty hypocritical with the circumstances that I have bought the book BUT there was no other choice.
I've been hearing your music ever since I moved in and I love it every time, a student of mine gave this to me for no real reason and I've never read nor will I ever read it but, I think you might enjoy

Ps. I hope your dog is enjoying the vegan lifestyle.

"Oh, it's on..." you murmer to yourself, who you now know as Daveed made you actually smile for a long period of time and that was the best feeling ever. You knew you had to one up him tomorrow, but you don't have a ton of books, there was nothing for you to really do.

The perfect idea popped into you left head as you grabbed your book for tomorrow, it was funny.

It way later in the day and you wanted grilled cheese (made with vegan cheese) for dinner, Clyde had been taken out on a walk and was in the mood to play around so you spent most of your day running around the house with your dog, trying not to get nipped but they were out of love.

You stood by the stove while reading your book, it was very fascinating and you could help but enjoy it.

Clyde began to bark and you looked up to see Daveed looking at your dog holding some chicken, swinging it back and forth. You walked up to the window and Daveed snapped out of it and waved at you, you waved back and looked at Clyde.

"Clyde!" You yell, he had drooled all over the couch, you looked at his face to see a long string hanging out, Daveed was slightly laughing but also looked like he felt bad. He watched you grab paper towel and wipe Clyde and then grab some stain remover.

After everything you looked at Daveed which caused you both to laugh, he held up his book and pointed at it, then making a thumbs up, he showed the top of the book to show how far he was. Which was about half way.

You ran back to your island and showed the top of your book to show how far you were which wasn't as far as Daveed. You then have a thumbs up.

He giggled and pointed at Clyde, he mouthed something but all you figure out was 'name'. Your best guess was 'what's their name?'. You mouthed Clyde but all you got was a confused face.

You leaned to the window and blew hot air to fog up part of the window, after writing it he smiled and waved at the dog. Clyde barked back.

You headed back to your stove only to freeze at the sent of burning, you had left your grilled cheese on for too long.

Daveed's POV

I went back to making dinner after waiting goodbye to (y/n), she seemed like a funny and goofy person.

I looked out the window again to see her throw out her grilled cheese, I could see it was a charcoal black and most defiantly burnt. I felt a little bad but really, I thought it was slightly funny.
