YOUR POV

you woke up to soft kisses being planted in your temple, you were laying on your side with your back to the middle of the bed. daveed had planted one arm around you and was softly waking you up, he would let the kiss linger for a while before adding another.

the sun was shooting through the window, the soft warmth making you sleepier. daveed noticed you were awake and started to rub your stomach through the duvet.

"time to wake up, love." he whispered against your head, "it's the last day of summer." his voice sounded exited, you could tell he was smiling.

"let me sleep." you groaned and rolled on your back, making you lay under him, daveed leaned down and kissed your forehead. "have you gotten new chapstick or something?" you reached your with your eyes half closed, your hand rested against his stubble and your thumb gently stroked his bottom lip."

daveed kissed the pad of your thumb, "no, they're just soft." he moved past your hand to kiss your lips, your eyes were closed so you weren't expecting it.

"it's that lip scrub we did two days ago, i'm telling you." you whispered as he kissed the corner of your mouth and your cheek, he gently moved to your neck. "why are you so cuddly this morning?" your nails gently traced his bare back.

"i can't be cuddly to my girlfriend?" he looked up at you.

"no, i mean you're never like this." you gestured him all over you, you could see him face fighting something. "you're nervous aren't you?" he let out a long sigh and dropped all his weight on top of you, his head laying right on your chest. "daveed, i'll be fine."

"you've started coughing." he stated.

"daveed, i don't know what you want-" you were cut off by the long buzz of power tools, "does he ever stop cutting wood?" you said louder so daveed could hear.

"it's like he's mad at us." daveed closed his eyes and buried his face deeper into your chest, he kissed the top of your breast that was peeking out of your tank top. "want me to make some eggs for breakfast?"

"i'll come with you," you tried to get up but daveed didn't move, "you wanna stay a little longer?" daveed nodded and you just laid back.

"okay, are test is today at one, we're gonna leave at twelve thirty, okay?" you asked from the bathroom while brushing your teeth, daveed was putting on some clothes for the day.

"got it," he headed out of the bathroom.

you just sighed and rinsed off your toothbrush, daveed had been acting very different after you started sneezing, and it was still happening. yesterday you were coughing as well.

it was like he was fighting with himself, he wanted to comfort you but he also wanted to stay away. you were surprised he hadn't asked you to stay at your mom's house, you thought it reminded him of your break.

clyde and soccer got outside while you watered your plants, the sun had surprisingly dried up all that water you spilled on them a couple days ago.

and soon enough, you had to leave for your test. daveed drove and you sat beside him, the foot that wasn't on the petal was going up and down causing his whole leg to shake.

you pulled into the hospital, a place you never liked anymore. daveed held your hand as you walked into the canter, rafael was leaving when you walked in.

"i don't think i'll ever get over how weird that feels."he laughed, "are you guys exited for tomorrow?" rafael rocked from front to back

"very." daveed smiled.

"more nervous then anything, i've never done this before." it was only your eyes that gave away your smile.

"you'll do great, anyway, i should go, good luck!" rafael waved and got into his car.

you both carried on and got the test, it wasn't as bad as you remembered but it still didn't feel normal.

"okay, so i got an email and it said we should get our results by the end of the day, they're doing rapid tests for us." daveed read off his phone as you both walked to the car, he opened the door for you and you both drove home.

the energy was different, you sneezed again and it only made it thicker. daveed kept tensing up after every sound you'd make, he offered hand sanitizer with a scared smile three times by the end of the drive.

"hey, i'm proud of you for going into the hospital." daveed parked on the driveway, he looked off to the side, "why are they always cutting wood? i don't understand." daveed sighed.

right as you both were getting out your phones buzzed, "that was super fast." the results were in.

you both opened your phones and got out your health cards, you sniffled before closing your eyes.

"daveed, read mine." you couldn't rip off the band-aid."

"ha! i'm negative- what did you say- oh right..." there was silence, daveed was scanning your phone. "y/n, you're negative."

you opened your eyes and looked down at your phone, "this has to be wrong." you shook your head.

"i think it's right," daveed laughed, "it might just be pollen."

"that doesn't make sense, it's the end of summer." you looked through your phone again, re-typing your health card information to only get a negative result.

"well, something is making you sneeze and cough, you're probably just allergic to something." daveed opened the door, he headed inside.

you slowly got out of the car, as you headed up the steps your neighbour waved at you.

"good afternoon!" he put his tools down and began to walk over, you quickly put back on your mask. "oh, you're still on about this fake virus?"

"its very real," you warned and stepped further back, "what are you working on?" you pointed to the wood piles and tools.

"i'm building some shelves for our bedroom," you pictures shelves in your old house's bedroom, it seemed doable. "i'm gonna stain them darker and polish them up." he smiled. "this wood was pretty cheap, it makes a lot of saw dust, i've been sneezing like crazy."

"me too- wait what?" you closed your eyes and shook your head, "you've also been sneezing?"

"ya, sawdust tickles my nose." he laughed, "anyway, gotta get back to my work, take care now." he waved and walked away.

you walked inside and daveed was giving the dogs some treats, "what took you so long?" daveed asked.

"i'm allergic to saw dust, the neighbours, they- it's their fault." you shrugged.

"that's probably it," daveed nodded, "at least you're not sick." daveed pulled you on the couch and you laid there for a while.

"i start my job tomorrow..." you stated, "i feel ready but extremely unprepared."

"you'll catch on quick," daveed rubbed your back, "you're good at that sorta thing."
