Tired. A word that is so commonly used people overlook the complete and utter control it has on the person speaking it. After a long day of work, studying, traveling, or just breathing tired is the word that is used. The meaning of it seems so simple to everyone, it's just a word you use when you don't have the energy or want to sleep.

It seems so simple, yet that word has a greater impact. Someone asked if I was ok and I said I was, I was just tired. To me, the word is so much more than needing sleep. It is the only word that sufficiently covers the entirety of the hollow feeling inside.

Tired. Tired of waking up every day. Tired of breathing. Tired of going through life completely exhausted from everything that involves living. Just tired.

If you say it enough you can hear the sadness dripping off every letter. Tired, tired, tired. The word is just a cry for help. How can someone be so utterly tired? It becomes a part of you. A part of the personality you have. The definition of tired is not complete.

Tired is a part of a story. A small word that you say to let everyone else know how little you can handle from the world. Every time it slips through your lips you feel it even deeper. It's a cry for help in its own way.

If you ask me if I'm ok I'm not going to say I feel like I'm drowning. That I feel every piece of me is broken. That I don't know how much longer I can go on. No. I'm just going to say, "I'm tired."
