Two Little Words

They know the words that hurt the worst.

They stab her, and then think they have the right to boast.

She tells everyone the same two words.

Over and over like a song by the birds.

These two little words you say

Have so much power, yet put you on display.

The fire seems to slowly fade from her eyes.

Yet no one is noticing her slow demise.

Her two little words coming up again,

Making the whole thing re-begin.

She knows she'll never shine,

So she whispers the two little words, I'm fine.
