Chapter: Ten
Lydia couldn't do it anymore, she needed to talk to Jackson. She sat in her room all Friday morning contemplating her feelings for him and wondering if they're relationship could actually go anywhere from this point. After about 4 hours of thinking, she got nothing. She couldn't see a relationship with him going any further than it already has and although it breaks her heart she had to end it.
She'd made up her mind.
She reached over to her nightstand and grabbed her phone, she took a deep breath as she tapped Jackson's contact and waited for him to pick up. She gasped when he finally answered, but she gathered up her courage and pulled herself to together.
"Hi Lydia." He greets her.
"Hey Jackson." She says
"What's wrong?" He asked with worry in his voice.
She felt a tear fall from her eye.
"Jackson we need to talk."
He pauses, and then sighs, "I know we do, I was waiting for this call."
"You-You were?"
"You don't think I notice how distant we're both being? It's obvious. And it's not our faults, it just seems like this relationship is at a standstill." He explains
"I just think... that our chapter has come to an end."
"I agree." He replies back.
"We had a good run, you were a really good boyfriend to me Jackson. You were my friend and you know I didn't have many of those." Lydia chuckled as tears fell down her rosy cheeks.
"We were good together." He says
"Yeah we were."
"And I will always be your friend Lydia, call me if you need me for anything okay?" His voices laced in sincerity.
She nods with a smile, "I will, same goes for you Jackson."
"Of course." He pauses, and sniffs like he's crying too. "So this is it."
"This is it."
They both took a few minutes to calm down before breaking the silence again.
"So I do have something I need to tell you though." He says
"And what's that?"
"I found a pack." He says with excitement
"You found a pack! Holy shit you've been searching for one for months!"
"I know! I just ran into one of the wolves from the pack and he realized I was alone and just brought me to everyone else." He explains
"Im so happy for you Jackson, I'm glad you found others like you who can help you so you're not alone."
"Not only that but... I met someone. Nothing happened I swear but.. it's just when I talk to them I feel... happy. Like I would with you but.. it's a little different.. I dont know how to explain it." He stutters bashfully
