~Diavolo~

I pulled Lucifer forward through the crowd of people who didn't seem to notice my presence. Lucifer was oddly silent behind me and if I hadn't known better I would have assumed he wasn't there at all. Usually in such a situated the dark-haired man would be loud in his protests but currently, he was muttering something indecipherable under his breath. Every few seconds I caught snippets of his protest "Diavolo... Arm... Hand...red hair...pret...face..." He seemed to be muttering something inaudible behind me. I knew that if he was genuinely opposed he would have voiced it in a way he was sure I would hear meaning this was simply his cute way of saving face.

"I haven't been to this store before!" I let go of him as I beamed happily looking through the window of the shop."You also aren't allowed to venture out on your own often..."Lucifer murmured with a beautiful smile."I have to admit that being directionally challenged has its downfalls but I know the Devildom like the back of my hand." I walked over to the door swinging it open as the workers stared for a moment before advertising their eyes in an attempt to pretend they weren't gaping at us. This place is truly different from the tailors Barbatos insists on going to! It's not as stuffy and doesn't look nearly as uncomfortable!" I said looking around at the clothes."I suppose it's not the worst." Lucifer followed close behind me glaring at everyone menacingly.

"Ah! Are you looking for new ties?"I asked quickly walking over to the more masculine section." No...Why do you ask?"He gave me a questioning look as he stopped beside me."Well, you were wearing a different colour today so I simply assumed you were broadening out your collection."I laughed embarrassed as Lucifer's face briefly resembled a tomato. Normally such remarks wouldn't have any effect on him, yet for some reason 4 weeks ago I felt a shift in his personality. He started laughing, smiling, blushing. Perhaps it was finally time, maybe I could break through that ice and into that pristine ocean of love he holed beneath the surface. After his tragic fall, he seemed to have put a gate on the emotions that caused such a demise. He refused to let love hurt him or his family anymore and seemed to be afraid to cause something so terrible to happen again in the guilted feeling that it was his fault in the first place.

The main reason I had even planned the party was in the hope that on such a night I would finally- finally tell him how much I adored him. I wanted to tell him the moment we met but the longer I knew him it became increasingly obvious that I should wait and let him sort out the emotions himself. "We should hurry up, I don't want to be here for very long." The brunette stared at the floor like a child without their parent. "Then let me pick you out an outfit!" I grinned happily as he opened his mouth to refuse." I promise I'll be reasonable- and if you don't like it you don't have to wear it."He pondered the idea for a few moments seemingly playing with the idea in his head."Why not."

With his permission, I quickly got to looking through the store for anything that may suit him. While red was certainly his colour one could argue blue fit just as well. The dress shirts caught my eye before I finally decided on his outfit.

A while later Lucifer held a shopping bag with wrapping paper covering it perfectly. "Wh-" he went to remove it before I softly grabbed his wrist"Come on- just wait to open it- and actually now that I'm thinking of it I need to buy you some accessories to match-"Lucifer cut me off with a finger ghosting over my lips."You did more than enough- you bought me this after all." I groaned annoyed."Come on why can't I just do something nice for you."He rolled his eyes at the purposefully childish reaction." you're too generous is all- this is much more than enough and I promise you I need nothing more." It didn't matter if he refused- I would simply buy them anyways and give them to him some other time when he was more willing to let me do this for him. Almost reading my mind he paused."And don't you dare try to buy them once I leave."Before I could answer his phone went off. He answered the call and I could faintly hear Mammon on the other end screaming something about being worried and where the hell his older brother was. I smiled as Lucifer scolded him and explained that he was out getting clothes and lost track of time. He hung up exasperated by his family.

"So what did they do this time?" I asked as he smiled."Mammon thought I was in trouble because I had been gone for so long- and it seems that Belphie somehow shut off the power while asleep."He shook his head fondly."It feels like just yesterday Mammon was running around in the green fields as asmo made flower crowns for us all."Lucifer rarely seemed to open up like this...It was magical to witness."They're all currently Purgatory Hall and I have a feeling that if I don't collect them soon I'm going to owe the angels and Solomon a favour."He sighed in a loving way."Though I'll never admit I'm glad they're alright."He faced as the dark haired-man left swiftly with a smile.

"Beautiful" the word echoed in my head as he walked away with an elegance that no amount of words could ever describe. How I ever ended up lucky enough to have Lucifer as a soulmate I don't think I'd ever find out but god truly did bless me with such a magnificent creature to love.
