~~Lucifer~~
I sat in front of my desk impatiently shaking my leg. Perhaps I had been too harsh on Mammon, I believe everything I said but the way I said it wasn't ideal. While finishing this paperwork was more than important, so was my family.
I sat there in an indecisive state wasting time to do either. Mammon...Well, he was important, my baby brother, the sweet one who refused any worldly possessions(besides clothes) as an angel. I doubt everything had been easy for him, at the time it seemed as though he was the only one who truly understood what getting kicked out of heaven really meant. I felt my stomach turn as I checked my DDD. Already a good night text from Diavolo. How long had Mammon been gone? Three hours? Perhaps he hadn't even calmed down yet, maybe I should sleep on it, in fact, I bet he would be home by the time I was awake.
And if he wasn't? Well... Then he was certainly still mad and definitely wouldn't want to see me. Maybe I could send Levi to find him. No... Leviathan wasn't the best choice, especially with his anxiety. Possibly Asmo- no, no, he would simply end up getting off track and coming back without Mammon. Satan? He wouldn't do anything for Mammon never the less me. Belph- BEEL! Obviously, Beel was the right choice, he was understanding, patient cared for his brothers and would be sure to get Mammon home.
With a back up plan in mind, I locked my door and headed to bed. Perhaps this was the better choice, after all, I'm sure Mammon would come back within the next hour anyway, that boy was helpless on his own.
After tossing and turning I finally managed to fall asleep, only to be faced with a worse reality.
"LUCIFER!!"
The echo of a voice still lingered in my head after waking. It was just a nightmare- Everything was fine, he was fine-
"PLEASE HELP ME!!" The sound of his voice lingered in my head.
While such nightmares were highly infrequent, the chance for me to address such things was less frequent.
What time was it anyways- my phone Buzzed twice alerting me of a text.
"Good Morning, Lucifer!" The same as yesterday, except now it was accompanied by the sticker of him in the dress. I sighed, I was too tired to deal with such madness.
"Good morning to you too, Diavolo." Not a moment later he sent a shocking sticker." What might you be doing up so early?" He asked making me glance at the clock- 4:02
"And you? Why might you be awake so early?" I typed back. After a few moments he sent the shocking sticker again, this time, however, it was followed by the peace signs.
"Simply getting a head start on the day, though, this is the usual time I wake up at, you on the other hand not so much."
"Well, perhaps I simply did the same." I smiled lightly. Before walking over to the closet, perhaps it would be better if I skipped the shower and started on my day first chance possible. The device in my pocket started vibrating. I took it out to see Diavolo trying to call me. Maybe it was for the better that I didn't wake up so early, especially if he was just going to end up talking to me the whole time. Nevertheless, I accepted the call and moved it to my ear. "Yes?" I asked into the speaker.
"You know I can tell when you lie" ah, yes, the demon princes secret talent."I had no idea it also worked over text."I mused as he sighed."Why are you really up so early? Is something bothering you?" His voice suddenly became gentle, how could I know this man for so long yet still be surprised at moments like these?
"I promise that it's nothing you need to worry about." I sighed leaving my room, as the door behind me clicked, I looked down the empty hall."What about you? It's bothering you, isn't it? In that way, it's bothering me."I felt the string on my finger tighten hearing him say that. It didn't hurt, it was more of a warm, tingly feeling that spread through my chest. "Lucifer?" I snapped back to reality. "While your concern is highly flattering I have to say that I'm fine, just some unusual dreams." I walked down to the kitchen immediately preparing some coffee."A nightmare? You should have said so, do you want to talk about it?"How many times did I have to repeat the same words? "No. Now, I believe Barbatos would appreciate you getting to work." I heard the other end go silent."Fine, Have a good morning~." And with that, he hung up.
How was I supposed to tell Diavolo I had a nightmare about the fall? Well...Less a nightmare, more of a memory. Mammon reaching out to me as we descended...Belphie and Beel clung to one another as the white-haired boy held tight to Levi, Asmo clutching to Satan… I was the only one by myself, unable to save any of my brothers, and the terrified look on all of their faces too… it wasn't something that Diavolo needed to have on his mind.
I snapped back to attention after over filling the coffee and burning my hand. Focus, that's what I needed. Everyone was okay, I would make up with Mammon and be better, I'd fix everything, as always, it would be alright...
Right?
My posting schedule is literally just whenever I finish the chapter and somehow that's today so I guess this could be considered an early post but who cares
I kind of skipped the editing process for this chapter so it might be a little weird.
I promise that this is still a dialuci fanfic and not just Mammon and Luci fighting
