~~Chapter 24~~
A/N: Sorry this took forever I've had it written for about two weeks now and I kept forgetting about it. Enjoy.
Hunter ran to her room. She could hear Kat calling after her, but she kept running. Tears were rushing down her face and she prayed that Kat wouldn't blab to anyone. Once she got to her room she slammed the door shut and slid down it. Hunter couldn't figure out why making such a big deal about it because everyone here had scars of their own. Others had probably already figured out how to do it without being caught before. Maybe she wasn't ready for people to see her scars just yet. Maybe she was so scared because when she did it she hadn't wanted to stop. She wanted to keep going until there was not a drop of blood left in her body. Thats how she felt now and in her despair she devised a plan. She would wait and pretend like everything was okay like she had been doing for years now and once she was out she would do it properly.
Not long after her plan was devised there was a knock on her door. Hastily, Hunter wiped her tears and opened the door and was greeted with the sight of a worried looking Mitchell.
“Are you okay?” was the first thing he asked.
Hunter almost laughed at the stupidity of the question. It was a yes or no question but each answer had a different meaning. Yes ment she was lying and no was too simple an answer.
Mitchell must have noticed this too because then he said “Yeah that was a stupid question.”
“What are you doing here?” she asked.
“Kat seemed freaked out about something you did and so I decided to come and check on you while Jake makes sure she doesn't do anything too drastic.”
Hunter sighed and sat back down on the floor.
They were friends but they weren't that close and Hunter wasn't too sure how to feel about him with the butterflies in her stomach whenever she was around him.
Mitchell sat down in front of her and they had a staring contest to see who would make the first move. It was Mitchell who broke first. He made a move to grab her arm, but Hunter pulled back and looked at him like a scared animal.
“May I?” he asked. “I want to help.”
He sounded genuinely concerned; however she was still startled by the fact that her arm moved on its own accord towards Mitchell. He gently pulled her sleeves back and sighed at the blood stained toilet paper on her wrist. Hunter winced when he started to unwrap the stuff off her arm. Hunter thought about stopping him, but didn't because she wanted to see how he would react. She closed her eyes before the last piece fell off. She heard a gasp and opened her eyes. Her wrists and arms were covered in angry red scratch marks and some of them were bleeding where the scabs came off with the toilet paper.
She hesitantly looked at Mitchell and before she could even blink he was rolling up his own sleeves. All Hunter could do was stare. His arms were covered in scars. Some newer, some older, some longer, and some shorter. When she finally looked back up at him and found that he was already staring at her.
Maybe they didn't know each other very well, but they could understand each other and somehow that seemed more important.
A/N: Hope you guys liked it. I will try updating again in the next day or so. I already have the next part done I just need to type it. Also I don't know how long I'm going to make this, but it should be only ten to fifteen chapters more at most. I love you beautiful, amazing, people!
