Chapter 6
Once Hunter was inside her house she let the tears fall. Quietly she put her school things away and went to her bathroom. Luckily her parents were still gone. She went to her cabinet and pulled out a razor and took out the blades. She sat in her bathtub, for she learned from experience that blood was a bitch to clean up even on tile. She rolled up her sleeve and pressed the blade to her skin.
The first time stung a bit, but after each cut the the pain started to lesson and her arm started to feel numb. Hunter sat there for what felt like forever watching the blood go down her arm.
Silently she got out of the bathtub and got the first aid kit under her sink. She cleaned her cuts wincing when the alcohol hit the cuts.
She wrapped her arm with some difficulty then threw on her brother's oversized jacket and went to bed feeling worse than she had before.

Hunter woke up in the morning to the smell of bacon. At first she thought someone had broken into the house, but the she thought, why would they make food?
Getting out of bed she crept downstairs and was surprised at what she saw. Her mom was in the kitchen making breakfast. Shocked she crept downstairs and she had to pinch herself a few times to make sure she wasn't houlsaniting.
"Mom, what are you doing home?" Seeing the look on her face she quickly added. "Not that I'm not happy to see you... Its just that you said you wouldn't be home for a few more days."
"Oh, my boss gave me the rest of the week off, Isn't that wonderful dear?"
"Yeah it's great," Hunter unenthusiastically replied.
An awkward silence filled the air until the smell of burning bacon filled the air.
"Oh dear!" Her mom said as she rushed to turn off the stove.
"It's fine mom I've got to get to school."
"Okey, but are you sure you don't want anything for breakfast?"
"Yes! I've got to go now," Hunter was out the door before her mom could reply.
Even though school was the last place she wanted to be it was almost better than the awkward silence that enveloped the house whenever her mom was home, but at least at home she didn't get made fun of or beaten to a pulp.
Hunter kept her head down as she entered the school hoping that no one would notice her, but of course when had she ever had any luck.
As soon as she walked into hell, sorry school everyone turned to look at her. She had grown used to the angry and accusing glares thrown her way, but these were down right looks that could kill. She tugged on the sleeves of her sweatshirt.
I didn't do anything wrong. Maybe they saw my scars? What did I do? All of these thoughts ran through her mind as she continued walking to her locker.
She went to open her locker when Amber sliped in front of her.
"I can't believe you!"
Hunter just stared at her still not knowing what she did.
"What did I do?"
"You slut you freaking stole the new guy!" It was almost as if she wanted to create a scene in the middle of the freaking hallway.
"How did I steal him?" She questioned after all what did she have to lose.
"Oh, Margret said she saw him take you home. What were you trying to use the pitty card to get him to freaking sleep with you?!"
"No I-" Amber cut her off.
"No you are not going to talk to him. You're not going to look at him and if you even think about him you will regret it." Then she turned on heel and walked away.
