I spent the next two days cooped up inside my room as I let my hand heal. I had Riven give me food because I was too lazy to go out. Every night I would hear him and the new roommate play Call of Duty and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at them for being too noisy. Although I hear a familiar voice from time to time, I'm imagining it could be Tim but my brother almost knocked his two front teeth after learning about our break-up so I don't think it's him. It could be Jase but I doubt he would like to be a punching bag for my brother, or maybe some lame member of the jocks that I didn't know about.
As I spent my days in our apartment, Fiona and Tamarah also spent their days calling and updating me about what happened in school. The biggest news I received was that Sky tried out for the Football team. They said that Riven invited him for tryouts. I'm not very sure Sky is even interested in joining. I think he was forced to even try out. I see Sky as a more bookish type of guy, who is more interested in staying in the library rather than sweating, and playing music in a local cafe rather than playing in the football field, although I have never gotten to know him yet, and I never want to know more about him. All the girls in this school just fall to their knees at the sight of him. And I don't want to be involved with any girls other than my friends ever again.
Thinking about going back to school tomorrow was very exhausting for me. I still need a medical certificate to present to my teachers so I could be excused and given extra activities to keep up with the lessons.
As I lay down, I heard footsteps approaching my door. Turns out, it was Riven, giving me my dinner.
"Here you go, Queen Kiley." he remarked as he sat down a bowl of spaghetti. "We'll be having a night run, so just put the bowl in the dishwasher."
"A'ight." I said as I stood up to get the bowl.
I saw the roommate pass by my bedroom door and now I begin to wonder...Who is he? So I asked Riven out of curiosity.
"I'm not very sure if you know him, but I'll introduce you to him when you step outside your bedroom." He smiled.
I don't want to go out just yet, it drives me insane enough living with my brother, and now I have to keep up with another stranger in the apartment. Thanks, but no thanks.
Instead, I just rolled my eyes and buried my head in my pillows. I heard him leaving the room and shut the door behind him. A few minutes have passed and I tossed my body, still wondering why he doesn't want me to meet the new roommate. Not like I care, but of course I deserve to know his name--at least.
Then, my wild thoughts made me think. What if I sneak into his room while they're out?
I hurriedly threw my sheets up and tiptoed my way across the room. I knew for a fact that nobody else is home, but for precautionary measures, I still tiptoed. The moment I got to the door, it was halfway closed. The lights were a little dim as well. I opened the door gently and stuck my head in. At first, I didn't see anything so I took a small step inside, and my eyes wandered everywhere. There were still unopened boxes of stuff on the floor, the closet was almost full of clothes hanging messily over the closet door. But I saw some posters of the band "All Time Low", taped poorly above the bed's head board. A gaming computer was also set up beside the door, and a roll of RGB LED lights were waiting to be installed on the ceiling as well. I'm starting to get disgusted with this guy. Reminds me more of the other boys in school.
On the bed, I see a backpack widely opened. My curious self reached out to it to check for any name or initials, just to feed my anxiety.
"Hi." a soft but deep voice resonated behind me. I didn't dare to say anything, nor even look back. Instead, I just ran for my life, feeling so humiliated.
