"Okay, everyone listen up. We are going to start lining up next to begin boarding the buses. Everyone head over to your homeroom teacher who you checked in with now. Everyone make sure you have everything before boarding, okay? Make sure all your friends are here and not in the school or the bathroom. Each teacher will check each student off as they board the buses."
The students all began walking towards their buses.
Ken and his friends were already in line waiting.
However, Ken was restless because Portia went into the school and saying she would be right back but that was about 20 minutes ago and now the line was getting shorter, he kept moving to the back to allow her time to come back out.
But she hadn't come out yet and he didn't know how else to stall.
He didn't want to broadcast her missing in action to the teacher because he didn't want to embarrass her if she wasn't in any danger.
"Kentrell, you're good to go."
His teacher said as he highlighted his name.
He didn't want to get on the steps yet because he was trying to wait a little while longer but he knew he couldn't do it much longer.
"You can go ahead and get on now."
His teacher patted his shoulder as Ken continued looking around for her.
Damn, where she at?
Ken clamored onto the bus and trudged to his seat in the back with his excited friends sat waiting.
He sunk into his seat, sulking.
10 leaned over the seat trying to get a glimpse of his brother and his girl together but when he sat up he saw the window seat empty.
He tapped his friend.
"Say, where's your girl?"
"I don't know, 10. She went into the school and hasn't come out."
Ken said folding his arms before leaning onto his knees covering his face with his hands.
10 watched his friend stressing.
This is supposed to be a great day for his brother and he was going to make sure it is and it will be a great day with his girl.
That's for sure.
"When I say I got you, that's me telling you I promise you. That's my love language. You my brother and I will make sure you are always good. "
He said as he slid out of his seat row, crouching down next to his friend in the aisle.
He rubbed his back before standing up straight.
"Y'all watch out for me."
10 said as he headed to the front of the bus.
As he felt his feet land on the ground outside, heading for the school's side doors, where he is sure she went through to enter the school.
"Watch me squash this shit."
