"Um, what's your friend's name?"
Ken heard her whisper to him as they walked.
"Ben10"
He answered a little too excitedly because she was paying attention to him now.
She stepped further, trying to catch up to Ben.
When Ken finally caught up to the group, he listened in on the conversation that was happening.
"Benjamin, you just had one of those, you're going to be sick and we haven't gotten on any rides or anything yet."
She tried to reason.
"But that damn funnel cake was so good, though."
10 said as he spun in the chair in front of the counter waiting on a waiter.
The server stood in front of the group, waiting.
"Yeah, say, man, let me get another."
Ben was interrupted midway when Portia leaned over into his ear.
He nodded his head, agreeing.
"Yeah, let me get funnel cake bites mixture. Baby girl said that the mixture has little mini cakes and brownies and cookies mixed."
He said finishing his order.
Portia stood there looking up at the menu above their heads.
"Okay, I got you. Give me a few minutes."
The server said walking away beginning to prepare 10's order.
10 thanked Portia for the suggestion, he bounced in his seat as he tapped his hands on the counter waiting with anticipation for his food.
Portia finished reading the menu, deciding to order a milkshake and a large cookie sandwich that used brownies in place of bread.
She turned head in the direction of the guys having a conversation about all the items that they were reading on the menus seated on top of the counter.
She looked in Ken's direction although he hadn't noticed until she grabbed hold of his jean jacket pulling him over to her.
"See anything you like, Mr. Shy Guy?"
She asked as her hand released his jacket once he was standing next to him.
Ken smiled removing his hands from his pockets.
"It's too early for me."
He answered fumbling over his words shocked that he had been rehearsing his words for when she spoke to him, only to jumble out that mess.
As 10 paid for everybody's food and they begin to converse about what to do next, Ken was kicking himself because he messed up his alone time with her.
As the group drifted further into the park,
Ken didn't know what to do now.
