Destiny

With the twins gone for the afternoon, I decided to use this opportunity to tell Wes about what happened with Christian. I was beyond nervous, only because I didn't know how he was going to react, but he deserved to know the truth.

"Prince is asleep and I just gave Lei some medicine for her stomach ache, so she should be fine in the next few hours. I put a bucket by her bed, just in case though." Wes said, walking into the bedroom.

"Okay good." I said, nodding my head. I was trying to find the best way to tell him what happened, but what would be the right way to tell your current husband that you made out and almost slept with your ex-husband?

"Destiny? Baby, you okay?"

"I...there's something I have to tell you." I stood up, running my fingers through my hair, as I took a deep breath. "Okay so last night...during my talk with Christian, something...happened."

"Something happened?" He questioned, crossing his arms.

"Yeah...we kissed." I told him. "Well...he kissed me, but...I didn't stop him." He let out a low scoff, running his hands down his face.

"I knew something happened between you two! I didn't want to say anything, because I didn't want to accuse you of anything, but I could smell him all over you when you came home last night!"

"It didn't mean anything, Wes, I swear! I know that doesn't justify what happened, but we were both in a vulnerable situation and it just happened!"

"I find that hard to believe!" He snapped, turning away from me and taking a deep breath. "Let me ask you something. Do you still have feelings for him?"

"No, of course not!" I exclaimed. I almost hesitated for a moment, only because I wasn't sure how I felt about Christian at the moment, especially after finding out that he wasn't actually ignoring my texts and emails. It still rubbed me the wrong way that he married Ana, especially after she basically ruined our marriage, but there's nothing either of us could do about that at the moment. "Babe, believe it or not, we just got caught up in an old pattern; but it meant absolutely nothing! To either of us!"

"You keep saying it didn't mean anything, but you didn't see how he looked at you that night we picked up Kynlee from his house! He couldn't keep his eyes off of you, not to mention how sad he looked when he saw you wearing your wedding ring!"

"Exactly! I didn't see that, because I wasn't thinking about him! I don't care about him anymore, Wes!"

"I'm going for a walk. I need to think." He said, storming out of the room.

"Wes!" I called out, but the front door slammed and he was gone. "Shit!" I sat down and dropped my face in my hands, groaning loudly.

"Mommy? I need you!" Lei whined.
