"You've reached Wes Gold. Leave a message and I'll get back to you at my earliest convenience. Thank you." BEEP!
"Hey...it's me. I know I said that I would give you some space, but I just wanted you to know that I've decided to go have dinner with Christian. I'm not sure what changed my mind, but you said you needed reassurance and I'm going to make sure that you get it. I owe you that much, at least. I hope everything is okay on your end though, and that your Mom is getting settled. Call me when you can. I love you." I sighed heavily as I hung up the phone, looking at myself in the mirror. I'm not sure what to expect from this dinner with Christian, but I did know that we had a lot to talk about and sooner was better than later.
I was in the middle of doing my hair and makeup, when I heard the front door open and close, which told me that the kids were home. I was anxious to find out how their day went with Christian, though I'm sure he was going to tell me all about it during dinner.
"I said I was sorry, why are you still mad?!" I heard Kyron yell.
"You might've said it, Kyron, but you didn't mean it! Had Christian not have asked you to apologize, then you wouldn't have!" Kynlee snapped.
"So I'm the bad guy because I'm just looking out for you?"
"Looking out for me and trying to run my life, is two completely different things!"
"Okay, okay...that's enough you two. What is going on?" I asked, finally jumping into their conversation.
"They've been going at the entire way home!" Leilani huffed.
"Why? What happened?"
"Kynlee's upset because I made a comment about her little boyfriend-" Kyron began, but Kynlee cut him off.
"Sam is not my boyfriend and thanks to you, he'll probably never want to speak to me again!" She shouted.
"Good! He was probably just using you anyways!"
"Kyron, that's enough!" I snapped.
"You know what? Is it alright if I stay with Riley tonight?" She asked me, as her eyes filled with tears. "Nevermind, I'm going to bed." She turned and stormed to her room, slamming her door in the process.
"Seriously Kyron? We've talked about this! You cannot constantly try and make decisions for your sister, regardless on if you think her decisions are bad. You make your own decisions, just like she's going to make hers, and you're just going to have to live with it."
"I know, but-" He began, but I cut him off.
"But nothing! You keep this up and she's going to hate you forever! Is that what you want?" I asked him.
"No."
"Okay then. Ease up and let her start making decisions for herself. I'm not saying that you still can't look out for her, but instead of bashing her choices...try to steer her in the right direction."
