"Sooo...Mr. Grey is your biological father?" Sam questioned, furrowing his eyebrows, as he looked over at me. We were sitting on the edge of the pool, with our feet in the water, while I told him about what my mom had told me and Kyron last night.

"Yep." I sighed, running my fingers through my hair. "The crazy thing is...we didn't even want to know who he was, but he was right there in front of us this whole time. The man that we spoke to on the balcony last night, did not sound like the man our mom told us about."

"People can change, especially after having years to reflect on all the bad things they've done."

"True, but...I don't know. I haven't really processed everything just yet."

"We can change the subject if you're uncomfortable talking about it." He said, easing closer to me. He wrapped his arm around my waist and kissed my shoulder.

"The whole situation is uncomfortable, but...thank you for listening. I know this probably isn't what you had in mind when I called you over to hang out." I said, laughing a little.

"Hey...I don't mind. I could listen to you vent all day, if that meant I could be close to you." I blushed a little and smiled, as he leaned in to kiss me, but we were cut off by someone clearing their throat loudly. We quickly pulled apart, seeing Ky standing there, with his arms folded across his chest.

"What do you want?" I asked, rolling my eyes at him.

"Mama sent me out here to tell you that our grandma wants to have lunch with us today, so we're heading over there in about an hour." He said, glaring at Sam. Ugh, I hate when he gets in his stupid brother mode.

"Do we have to?"

"I'm sure we don't have to, but I thought we wanted to get to know our grandparents."

"I do, but...I really wasn't trying to leave the house today." I huffed.

"No, you're just trying to avoid Christian, but I doubt he'll even be there so don't worry. Besides...our grandparents didn't do anything wrong, so we shouldn't punish them for what our dad did to our mom." He said. I hate it when he was right, but I'd never admit it to him. Kyron has always been cocky and I definitely don't want to add to his ego.

"Alright fine. I'm sorry to cut our time short, Sam."

"It's okay. Call me when you're back home and have fun." He said. I nodded my head as he leaned in and kissed my lips.

"Wow. Y'all couldn't wait for me to go back inside?" Kyron asked.

"Why are you even still standing there?" I snapped. "Go away!" He turned around, calling out for Sawyer, before rushing into the house.

"I guess I'll get going, but if you do end up seeing Mr. Grey...at least try to hear his side of the story." Sam said, helping me up.

"Okay, I'll try."
