Destiny
The twins have been moping around the house for the last few days, and because I've been so busy with helping Audrey finalize her wedding details and working out my marriage, I haven't had a chance to ask them what was going on. Usually Kynlee would have been told me what was bothering them, but it seemed as if she were trying to avoid me and that was not okay.
"I need to talk to you two." I said, handing Prince to Wes. "Lei, go eat your breakfast in the living room and please don't spill any syrup on the couch." She nodded and followed her Dad out of the kitchen, leaving me and the twins alone. "Okay, what's going on with you two? Are you still fighting?"
"No, we're fine." Kynlee said.
"Yeah...what she said." Kyron added.
"Okay, now that you've gotten the lies out of your system, why don't you both tell me the truth." They glanced at each other and sighed, before looking back at me.
"Well...grandma expressed to us how upset Christian was that he missed out on us growing up, so we decided to make him a scrap book. It started from when we were babies, all the way up until now, with little fun facts that we thought he'd like to know. So once we finished, we decided to surprise him and take him to lunch and give him our gift, but when we went to his office...things...escalated."
"What do you mean things escalated?" I asked. Kynlee glanced at Kyron, who rubbed his eyes.
"When we got there, Ana was there, which confused us because we thought he had filed for divorce. She was being unnecessarily rude, saying to Christian that he was supposed to take care of this quote on quote problem, which turned out to be us. We were the problem. Long story short, he told us that he didn't want to see us again, and that was it." I could feel the anger boiling up inside of me, as I closed my eyes and counted to ten.
"Okay...I need you both to listen to me. Whatever Christian said to you...he didn't mean it. Ana is blackmailing him somehow and because he's trying to protect us, he's letting her."
"How is he protecting us?" Kyron asked.
"Apparently she has something on me, which I have no idea what, but I'm going to find out." I said. "Whatever it is...it has to be big, otherwise he wouldn't be putting himself in this situation."
"So technically, he's protecting you. Not us." Kynlee said. "He still loves you."
"I know and he loves you both too, so trust me when I say that he didn't mean anything he said to you. I'm sure if Ana wasn't there, breathing down his neck, then he would've explained himself and the situation."
"Do you still love him?" I looked towards the archway, seeing Wes standing there, as he gave me a nod. I'm not sure how long he's been standing there, but I'm glad that he was giving me nearby support.
