1) If This Was A Movie by Taylor Swift
It was three in the morning and Jisoo was up scrolling through instagram while listening to depressing songs–her normal routine–and she somehow ended up on Jinyoung's page.
She swallowed as she slowly went through his page, trying her best to ignore the way her heart was aching.
It has been three years since Jinyoung and her drifted apart–for absolutely no reason. What they had were left hanging. No explanations, no arguments. One day, the both of them just decided to stop talking.
Though as much as Jisoo claims she's over it and over him, some nights she just couldn't manage to put on a good front, some nights it just gets hard to even lie to herself.
As Jisoo scrolled through his page, she then landed on an anniversary post of Jinyoung and his current girlfriend. He had compiled a video of his girlfriend and had edited a cute love song in the background and Jisoo swallowed at that.
Her heart was breaking and she hated it. She couldn't fathom why she was feeling like this, deep down she felt like she didn't deserve to feel this heartbroken.
Jinyoung and her were never anything, sure they messed around, stole a few kisses, sang songs to each other, stayed up all night talking until the sun came up, having each other's parents recognise the other, sometimes getting caught in the moment and saying the sweetest things to each other, but they were never anything. Never.
They never declared anything, Jinyoung never asked Jisoo to be his girlfriend, and Jisoo never bothered enough to question Jinyoung on what they both were to each other. Not before Jisoo realised how much she had to lose anyway.
They were just a stupid highschool fling–at least that was what she had been telling herself. They had messed around during Jinyoung's senior year, and drifted apart the same year. And Jisoo was now already graduated from highschool, and she was now in her second year of university.
Jisoo then inhaled as she decided to text her bestfriend–Jennie–telling her she wasn't feeling okay. Though before she hit send, she started having second thoughts, she then deleted the message and switched off her phone, deciding that she didn't want to talk to anyone–at least not about Jinyoung anyway. Besides, Jisoo rationalized that no one would understand her anyway.
One of the other reasons she felt like she couldn't bring Jinyoung up to anyone was also because she didn't want people to know that he was still the one she was tragically in love with.
Despite sometimes only wanting to talk about him, she held herself back, she just couldn't bare looking stupid in front of anyone.
Though everyone could tell. The way she couldn't let anyone else in after him, it was obvious to everyone that if Jinyoung ever came back to her, she'd crash into his arms with no hesitations.
Jisoo felt tears forming in her eyes as she lied down on her stomach on her bed, starting at her galaxy lights, her vision misty. Jisoo closed her eyes and eventually let a few tears slip. She felt tired, and her heart was feeling heavy.
She then let out a few broken sobs when it occured to her how much what had happened between Jinyoung and her still affected her just as much.
She wondered if it was because she never received a proper closure from him, or was it because she was still in love with him.
