Five Years

"Rise and shine!", Jisoo sang as she opened the blinds to her 5-year-old daughter's room, she then went over to wake up her daughter, sitting by the bed.

"Seowoo.", Jisoo called softly, waking her up, "Goodmorning, sweetheart. Come on, you have school today.", Jisoo smiled.

Seowoo then slowly opened her eyes, rubbing them, not wanting to wake up as she pouted. It occured to Jisoo how much Seowoo resembled someone.

"Hi, did you sleep well?", Jisoo asked, helping her up, and she then hugged Jisoo, and Jisoo laughed as she hugged Seowoo back, rubbing her back, Jisoo then placed a kiss on her temple, lifting her up.

"Let's get ready and then mummy will drop you off at school okay?", Jisoo smiled, continuing their morning.

An hour later, Jisoo was walking to the kindergarten hand-in-hand with her daughter considering that it was just nearby.

"Seowoo, today Uncle Jeno will be picking you up.", Jisoo reminded–referring to her younger brother–as she looked down at her daughter.

"I have some work to catch up on, I promise I'll see you as soon as I finish okay?", Jisoo asked, and Seowoo then looked up at Jisoo with a grin.

"Okay, mummy.", she said, and Jisoo scrunched her nose at that. Moments later, they were finally in front of Seowoo's kindergarten. Jisoo then kneeled down to be the same height as her daughter.

Jisoo adjusted Seowoo's coat, and tightened her pig tails, she then cupped her daughter's face.

"Promise mummy you'll be a good girl today?", Jisoo asked.

"I pr-ro-promise.", Seowoo said with a toothy grin, struggling slightly to say the word, earning a small chuckle from Jisoo.

"You're not mad at mummy, aren't you for being busy with work?", Jisoo asked softly, feeling slightly guilty.

Seowoo shook her head at that, she then crashed into her mum for a hug, and Jisoo smiled at that, immediately hugging her back.

Jisoo was an advertising and marketing manager at some huge advertising agency in Korea. Jisoo had found out that she was pregnant with Seowoo two weeks after she graduated university, hence that held her back for awhile to work.

Though, she was thankful that her family gave her support, emotionally and financially, despite being disappointed in what she had gotten herself into. But when Seowoo came, it was the best thing in the world for the whole family.

Eventually, a year after she had Seowoo, she finally started working, and eversince then she's been working hard to make up for what she had missed out on, repay her parents and also to provide her and Seowoo a decent lifestyle–which so far is working well. Jisoo couldn't be any more happier.

"Alright. Have a good day in school today, I love you.", Jisoo then said as she kissed her daughter on both cheeks, standing up.

"I love you too, mummy!!", Seowoo then said as she hugged Jisoo again, and Jisoo stroked her hair, looking down at her endearingly. It was clear that Seowoo meant the world to her.

"Goodmorning, Miss Kim. And Goodmorning Seowoo.", her teacher then greeted with a smile, holding her hand out, "Are you ready for today? Have you said goodbye to mummy?", her teacher baby-talked and Seowoo nodded cheerfully as she took her teacher's hand walking inside while waving goodbye to her mum and Jisoo smiled smally as she watched Seowoo went inside the kindergarten.

Jisoo then inhaled as she turned around, heading back home, feeling dreadful at the thought of work. She was then snapped out of her trance by one of the older nosy mums–Suyeon and her friends.
