Jiraiya's Twins

Chapter 9

"Katsumi... c'mon we gotta go. I don't want to be late." Tadashi said, shaking his sleeping sister.

"What are you talking about? I didn't pass... remember." she said, hiding under her covers.

Tadashi walked to the futon and yanked the covers off his sister. "What are you talking about? Your ninja sash is right here" Tadashi said, placing the headband on her hand. She quickly sat up and gilded her fingers atop the smooth metal. "N-no way. This can't be mine. I-if this is your idea of a joke then-"

Tadashi gave his sister a hug. "Iruka-sensei passed by last night and told me to give it to you. He said you fight wonderfully... whatever that means "

Katsumi paused registering the information her brother just told her. Then she blushed and pushed him away.

"Ow. what was that for-"

"Oh my goodness, he saw me spar with Guy sensei. How much did he see? When did he get there?" Katsumi began to ramble while covering her face.

Tadashi sat up and pushed her back. She laid back down on her futon.

"Would you relax, Katsu. Let's go, we need to get ready."

The twins were the first ones in class. Tadashi was not going to let his sister be late on this important day.

"Wake me when our captain is here." Katsumi yawned.

Tadashi watched his sister smack her lips and lean her head against the desk. He was willing to let her sleep for the time being until more people showed up. Slowly, his fellow classmates began to fill the room.

"I hope you and I are on the same team, Tadashi" one of the girls said.

"I hope so too. I'll definitely protect you from all the evils in the world" Tadashi said with a wink, causing the girl to giggle to herself.

The room began to fill up more. Tadashi was surprised to see Naruto walk in with a headband on his forehead.

"How did you pass?" Tadashi scoffed. It's not like he didn't like Naruto, but if the blond was around Tadashi then his popularity would lessen significantly.

"I did something super amazing, so obviously I got my headband." Naruto said proudly.

"Is that so?" Tadashi said, his eyes brows rising in surprise. "Well if they passed someone like you because you have a super cool ability then I'll need to see that one day."

Naruto grinned and took his seat. More kids streamed into the class and took sets all around the room. Shikamura sat in the row above him much to the delight of Tadashi.

"Shikamura! I hope we both get placed at the same team." Tadashi said beaming at his best friend.

"I highly doubt it. Honestly, this is such a drag. I already know where they're going to put me" He said scratching the back of his head.

The other girls began whispering excitedly. He could hear a few of them wondering about whether or not they would be on the same team as Sasuke or himself. As much as he loved the attention he really hated it when they began comparing him to Sasuke.

The sound of heavy footsteps entered the room from down the hall. It grew closer and closer until Ino and Sakura burst through the door each explaining that she was the winner of their race. Katsumi remained oblivious to the increase in noise and continued to sleep soundly next to Tadashi. The girls continued to argue about the winner of their race for a few more minutes until they noticed Tadashi and Sasuke. Tadashi casually scratched the back of his head while looking at his sister, while Sasuke continued to stair forward with his hands intertwined. Now the girls began a new argument of which one of the boys was better, an argument that Sasuke didn't really care for nor did Tadashi notice. Sakura headed up the Sasuke faction while Ino led the Tadashi faction.
