DAY 7
Logan's driving was like a turtle's dinner time that day.
Okay, I'm not sure. Do turtles eat as slow as they walk?
Anyhow, he didn't seem very interested or even happy about going out for dinner. "You look good today." He said, definitely not meaning it, but only for the sake of making conversation.
"Thank you." I replied.
"I'm sure you're supposed to compliment me back as well." He said, shrugging. "Society, man."
"Well, the society hasn't tied me to anything, has it?" I asked, rolling my eyes. "How much time until we reach?"
"I really don't know where I'm going." He said. "Or why. Honestly, I kind of hate my sister."
I bit my lip. "I thought I got that vibe from you, yeah. I'm sure she doesn't have the same feelings towards you."
He laughed. "Duh. Look at this face." He said, pointing to his face. "Seems impossible, but it's the truth, darling. Someone can actually dislike this face."
"Huh." I sighed, scratching the back of my head.
"You'll see at the dinner." He said, as he checked his phone. "Damn, my friends are perverts. They're calling me lame 'cause I'm only making conversation."
"So?" I asked.
He seemed shocked. "Yeah, keep up the act. It did get me convinced, but nah. I know you're not that naïve. Right?"
I widened my eyes and stared at him. "Amy, that's scary. Don't do that. Please."
I chuckled. "I'm tired already, Miller. Just drive."
The rest of the drive just went by Logan asking me whether I actually didn't understand the joke his friends sent him, and I honestly did not understand. It took me a while to wrap my head around such jokes.
"There they are." He said, applying the brakes. "We're finally here! And look what my sister is wearing. A little less, and she is eligible to be Nicki Minaj."
We opened the door at the same out, and even got out at the same time. "You are talking about five inches of unclothing. I think she's wearing enough clothes."
"The naïve knows Nicky Minaj!" He said, as a handsome guy came and shook his hand. Logan didn't seem to like it; but this guy was looked - I shouldn't say this - hot.
"Hey, I'm Sean." The Australian accent felt soothing to my ears. "Lena's fiance."
"Amy." I said, as he offered his hand and I took it. "Logan's friend.""So you haven't made it official yet?" He asked, laughing. Logan shot him a look from the hug he was giving Lena.
"We're not a couple, um," I hesitated. "We're just friends."
Lena came and stood next to him and he put his arm around her shoulder. "Lena, tell me, how many times have we heard the just friends tag?"
"I've lost count, actually." She said, turning to Logan, who was constantly shooting them a look which was a combination of anger and embarrassment. "But if Amy and Logan do became just friends, I'll be the happiest. Oh, they even look cute together!"
Logan and I shifted away from each other at the same time, giving another reason to Sean to laugh. "Little kids. Kids, kids, kids. You'll get it one day."
"Right." Logan said, making it obvious that he didn't want to be here. "Can we please go inside?"
Lena laughed as the four of us went inside the restaurant. "I remember the time when I was forced to babysit my brother and he always used to be this eager to pee. Does my little brother want to pee?" She asked, looking down at him.
