DAY 7

As if it weren't obvious enough, Logan was kidding. He broke into a laugh after he said, "Wanna make one of our own?"

I rolled my eyes as he fell on the grass and placed his hands under his head. "I think I got too sentimental." He said, staring at the sky. The wind blew hard, and being with Logan made me feel more awkward than usual.

"Well, I think you're just getting human," I told him. He chuckled and continued staring. At a distance, I could hear Lena's laugh and Sean's voice. They seemed to far, and happy, while Logan here was being emotional. "Or maybe you're just too desperate."

He laughed hard and held his stomach. "I'm not desperate. I can get any girl. But any girl can't-"

"- get you," I guessed. "You can get any girl, but you don't want any girl."

"Right," he nodded. "So, we have a deal? I won't destroy your lame prom if you get me a date."

"You'll attend my prom?" I asked, widening my eyes. "And dance?"

"Yes." He grinned. "Whom are you going with, and will probably enjoy unless I set fire to it."

"There's one," I teased. "I meant no one. I guess I will get Taylor along! It's a love theme, you don't necessarily need to have a boyfriend for it!"

He looked skeptical. "So you don't have a boyfriend," I nodded. "And yet you don't want to be my girlfriend. Why?"

I took a deep breath as my hands shook. "Because we're different."

"Opposites attract." He said, smartly.

I half smiled and stood up. "Well, we'll not." I stood up. "Drop me home, will you? It's late. Tay will be freaking out."
------

Our drive was usual, him cracking lame jokes and me shaking him off. He dropped me off in the front and I got out of the car. As I was about to turn, I halted. "Do you want to come in?" I asked, taking a risk.

I heard a door open and close. He tossed his keys in the air and caught them. "I take that as a yes to being my girlfriend." He joked.

I knocked on my door and waited. Footsteps ran to the door and opened it, gasping. "God, Amy, you're here. I was worried tha-" Tay stopped. "Hey, man! Logan Miller, innit?"

"Yes!" Logan said, fist bumping Taylor. I felt like I was intruding on this dude moment. "How are you?"

"I'm good!" He said, grinning. I could feel the bond between them. "Thank you for driving Amy home."

"Yes," I whispered.

"Thank you to Amy for letting me into her house for the first time." Logan joked, nudging me. "I guess I'll leave now. It was nice meeting you. We should catch up one day."

"We sure will." Tay said, pulling me inside the house. "Have a good night, Logan."

"I sure will." He said, looking at me in a way which gave me goosebumps. After that, I couldn't stop regretting saying no to Logan's be my girlfriend.
______

It was almost midnight, and I clearly wasn't asleep. Sleep felt alien to me, and this one particular person felt close to me- like he was right here.

His smile was the first thing that had been rubbed off me. The way his eyes went bright and damp whenever he laughed a little too much was drooly.

I hid my head under my pillow. I was turning into those girls whom Logan loathed- the one who were always behind his looks. I shook my head. No, if I had been behind his looks, I would have been at his feet from the beginning.
