DAY 9
"So what do I do?" I asked.
April, Zoe and Miley sat on my bed as I was forced to take the couch. I had invited my best friends to my house after I realised that I liked the guy girls like me weren't supposed to like- Logan Miller.
"You wait." Miley said. She was always crushing on Logan because of his looks, but she seemed happy that I liked him too. Miley was one of my choices for Logan; after which I realized I couldn't let my crush date my best friend. "Good girls get bad boys."
I rolled my eyes, but a smile was forming on my face. "But he's not a bad boy- not a player, definitely. He's just... different."
"So are you!" Zoe said. "I know both of you quite nicely, and I think he's good for you." Zoe was Logan's neighbor and they knew each other since middle school.
"Well, I think otherwise," April said, surprising the three of us. "I think he's trouble."
"Come on, April!" Miley shrieked as Zoe only shook her head. "Don't go all Taylor Swift on her before her relationship even starts!"
"I think April's right." I said, narrowing my eyes. I started to scratch out my nail paint as I put my over thinking skills at work. "Logan Miller threatened to destroy my prom unless I won some stupid bet. How can I even trust this guy?"
Miley seemed to disagree and Zoe took no stand on the matter. So I continued. "And also, how could I even think he would like me?" I paused. "In fact, I even asked him today. His constant flirting had been getting on my nerves, getting my hopes high, and that is something I don't want."
"What did he say?" Miley asked.
"He denied," my voice lowered. "Saying I wasn't his type."
April smirked in a way that she was just proved right. I felt like punching her- she was the one who made me doubt my feeling towards him. "He must be lying!" Miley protested. "Out of all of us, I think I have the most experience at reading feelings. From what you've told us, I think he likes you."
"I wish." I admitted, my eyes dampening.
"Don't you cry right now." April got up and pulled me into a hug. She signalled to Zoe and Miley, who can running and grabbed me.
"I hate crushes." I said, scoffing.
"You like crushes." Miley said, giggling. She was the first to let me go. "What will you do now?"
"I will get over him." I said.
---------I was awake until a little past ten, waiting for Logan to call me. I was hoping he called me and gave me his feedback on Harley- and I was getting disappointed.
Whenever my phone vibrated, I instantly thought it was Logan calling.
After the ninth time my phone rang, Logan called. I picked it up too quickly, the surprise of which I could hear in his voice. "Whoa, hey."
"Hi," I mumbled. "How was it? Do you like her?"
"Umm.." He paused. "I don't know- she seemed too closed. And me, I'm sort of an open person. She-"
I interrupted him, rudely. "You said otherwise regarding Chloe. You said she was open! And now you don't like closed girls either?"
"That's not what I meant," he explained. "She-"
"Is that a no too?" I asked, restlessly. Why I didn't I already say yes to him when he asked me out?... jokingly.
"Yeah," he said. "I mean, yes, that's a no." He made a irritated noise. "Who's next?"
"There's Jules, Kylie and Erin left." I said, happy that I could remember all of them. "Should I forward you their numbers?"
"Sure." He sounded disinterested. "And I wanted to ask you something. I... let's have lunch together."
"But you have to meet one of the girls during lunch." I reminded him.
"I have a plan." He answered. "I'll pick you up tomorrow. Good night."
"Good night."
---------"Morning," Logan nodded from his car. Until the day before, he looked like a goofy and annoying guy to me, but that day, he looked like a guy I wanted to hug and stare at all day long.
"Hey." I said, getting into his car without him uttering a word. Jumping right on to re topic, "How was Harley?"
"She was weird," he answered, seeming lost. "I have to admit, I didn't like her. How did you even choose her for me?"
That comment pricked me. I winced. "I don't know- I thought she was your type... I was wrong. I'm sorry."
His face smoothened and he smiled. "Don't be sorry. You haven't committed a crime."
I nodded. "What plans were you talking about last night?"
His eyes shine. "You'll understand when we get to school. But you have to promise me something; you won't object until you listen to me." I nodded. "As you've been doing so much for me, I think it's time I should do something for you as well."
Butterflies were probably choking in my stomach, I was that uncomfortable. "Okay," I stretched the word. "What are you going to do?"
"Walk to class with me and I'll tell you." He winked. I supressed my smile and went along with him.
In five to ten minutes, we reached school. Logan offered to park the car while I waited for him outside the building. I shook my head, saying that I wouldn't mind parking the car with him. "Okay." He breathed.
We walked to the building as I looked around to spot any of my friends. I had told them that I was going to get over Logan, but it mustn't be seeming like it.
Logan held my hand, gesturing me to walk faster, until we reached a classroom- where a couple of guys and girls were sitting. "Hey." He grinned, looking towards me. "Say hi to Amy Valdez, guys."
I heard a few greetings and I sat on a chair Logan instructed me to, confused. He clapped his hands. "I've told all of you that Amy is helping me find a girl for myself... and well, we aren't making much progress. So I thought," he said, smiling. "Amy and I would go on double dates, with the girls I'm supposed to meet and well, Will."
"What?" I mouthed
"Yep," he whispered. A guy stood up; tall and undoubtedly hot. He grinned and nodded at me. "Amy, this is Will. Will, Amy."
Will extended his hand and I placed mine in his. While Logan continued talking, I checked Will out. He was tanned, with muscular arms and wavy hair. "Hey, nice meeting you." His eyes were light brown, but I would have swoon over Logan's green eyes any day.
"You too," I said, smiling. Logan cleared his throat next to me. "Did I see sparks fly?" He asked, coming closer to me. I shot him a look and his grin widened. "Okay okay. So are you two okay with having doubles-"
"Amy Valdez, will you go out on a date with me?" Will asked, his eyes popping out of its sockets. Logan raised his eyebrows. Will silently added, "With Logan and a few random girls."
I glanced at Logan before replying. He put on a pleading face. My heart felt warm, but I wanted to say no. Instead, I heard, "Sure."
The two boys broke into smiles. "Amazing." Logan said. He pulled me into a hug. In my ear, he whispered, "You rejected me, so I found you Will."
"Right."
He dug his face in my hair and sighed. "Thank you."
