"Perrie." she felt how someone forcefully shook her shoulder; literally messing up the hungover head. "Pez, wake up."
Perrie recognized her cousin's voice but it was still indistinct.
"Come on, drunk ass." her hand violently shook Perrie's arm.
"The fuck are you doing, Els? You'll turn my brain into a porridge." Perrie scolded her and slashed the air in a try to target Ellie's hand.
"What's up with these books on the table in the living room? I left you food and when was just about to go out I spotted them."
Perrie slowly recalled Jade's existence again; still with half closed eyes.
"Perrie." Ellie pulled off the covers of Pez causing her to groan loudly.
"Fucking hell, what's wrong with you?"
"I asked you something. Whose are these books?"
"Jade's. She is into books. Weird, huh?" Perrie huffed and turned to the other side; hoping her cousin will leave.
"Who is Jade?" Ellie leaned above Perrie to find her face but supported her hands right on the blonde's pulsing ribs.
"Damn it." Perrie cussed and immediately popped out of bed.
"What now?"
Without giving an audible answer, Pez tugged up her tee and exposed the huge stain.
"Who did this?" Ellie looked shocked; getting closer to examine the colourful skin.
"Jade."
"Okay, shit's getting very strange. So, Jade's books are on your table in your home and... yet she bruised you?"
"It's a long story, let's go downstairs so I can make myself a coffee at least." Pez rubbed her forehead.
Once they got down, Perrie made two cups of coffee and took a pill for her chronic headache. Positioning on the other side of the table, so Ellie could interrogate her easier.
"Clarify for me." Ellie demanded when Pez sat on the chair.
"First, I went to the club..."
"Yeah, that's pretty obvious." Ellie accusingly remarked.
"Shut up." Perrie chided. "But then I decided I didn't want sex..."
"How so, sex icon?"
"Can you leave me to speak?"
Her cousin nodded annoyed.
"I went for a walk in the park and well... Jade crashed into me with her bike."
Ellie creased her brows; what was this freakshow saying?
"And you took her home? Like a lost puppy?"
"Jade said she was crashing at her best friend's because she didn't pay some rent."
"And you took her home?" Ellie repeated; still not understanding the whole situation.
"Ay, don't come at her like this. She is so nice, I swear."
"I knew you were a psycho but isn't this too much even for you?! When did you actually start caring if people are nice?!"
"I didn't."
"So—"
"So, I offered her to stay here. I'm living alone, anyways. All the rooms, except mine, are empty. Besides, as I said Jade is a good person."
"How do you know?" Ellie questioned again.
"The fuck, Els, she reads books." Perrie glared.
"Not everybody who reads books is a good person, idiot."
