CHAPTER 11

I'll be surprised if anyone reads this but I'm back and I will be continuing this story. I apologize for the lack of updates. I also apologize if the characters seem off. I am too lazy too go back and read my story. 

UPDATE; The update for this chapter is just me editing. There are a lot of spelling mistakes.

After forging a few signatures with the help of Alex, Mei is officially enrolled into Los Feliz High School. Julie and Mei walk into the studio and see Reggie and Luke playing on their instruments.

"Guys, you aren't supposed to be playing alone." Julie says closing the door.

"But we're not alone cause we always have each other," Reggie says as Luke puts his arm around his shoulders.

"Where's Alex?" Mei asks sitting on the sofa.

"He stormed off about an hour ago saying he needed some answers." Reggie answers. Mei hums in response.

"Anyways, we have some pretty major news to tell you." Luke says to Julie. Mei sits up intrigued. "We had a band meeting earlier, and we wanna invite you to join Sunset Curve. And no, you're not dreaming."

Julie turns around and looks at Mei in disbelief. Mei shrugs her shoulders as she is also confused.

"Oh" Julie finally says after a moment of silence.

"She said oh." Luke says. "That's what you say when you get socks on your birthday not when invited to join the most epic band ever,"

"Sorry. I'm honored, but I can't think about anything but Flynn right now. She's still mad at me for lying. She hasn't texted me back,"

"Yeah, you're in a tough spot,"

"Yeah"

"How about you tell her the truth?" Mei says from her spot on the couch. The three look up in shock.

"What did you just say?" Julie asks walking closer to Mei.

"Tell her the truth, we can perform something for her so she knows that you aren't losing your mind and won't be mad at you anymore,"

"That's actually not a bad idea," Julie says. "You're a genius Mei," she rushes over and gives the girl a hug in excitement. Mei smiles and hugs her back.

"Okay so what should we perform?" Mei asks.

"How about the song Reggie and I were practicing. We found this poem that you wrote, and we added a really cool melody to it. It sounds awesome," Mei gets up and looks at the poem over Luke's shoulder.

'These lyrics are killer'

"Where did you find that?" Julie questions. Luke immediately pulls Reggie and Mei infront of him as a shield.

"Definitely not you dream box." Luke says nervously. Mei rolls his eyes and smacks Luke upside his head.

'Doofus'

"You went through my stuff?" Julie demands.

"I know but"

"Boundaries give it back" Julie chases Luke around the piano.

"No! Hey, you need to realize how insanely talented you are. Ok? Listen to this." Luke says standing on the piano.

'My life would be real low. Zero. Flying solo' Luke sings.

"I wrote that about Flynn when she was helping me with my mom. I gotta go." Julie says leaving the studio. Mei immediately rushes after her after saluting the boys.

"Hey, Julie," Mei pants as she ran to catch up to the teen. "Let's go somewhere"

"Go where?" Julie asks.

"My favorite place in Los Feliz. Come on," Mei encourages. Julie nods her head and two make their way to Mei's favorite place.

After a thirty minute walk, Mei and Julie make it to their destination. A park.

"It's beautiful," Julie admits taking in the scenery. The grass was alive and green. The sky was clear of clouds and it was populated, but that wasn't what made it beautiful. There were musicians, dancers and singers all around doing their own thing yet all working together like a well oiled machine.

"Welcome to Melody Park" Mei says gesturing to the park around them. "My dad always took me here. I used to come here when I was stressed and couldn't write music. Let me show you around." Mei grabs a hold of Julie's hand and pulls her north. As they walk, Julie can hear the faint sound of drums. It get's louder as they walk.

"This is the Drum Circle. It is so much fun" Mei says. She hands Julie a bucket and a pair of drum sticks and sits down in the circle. The duo immediately join in and beat their drums in rhythm to the others. After doing that, Mei takes her to a freestyle rap battle and an a cappella group. Julie loved every second of it, whether its because of all the music that surrounded her or because she was with Mei. After doing some more activities, Julie takes Mei to her favorite Chinese food reasteraurant.

"This food is so good," Mei comments as she eats.

Julie laughs as she reaches for her water. "I had a great time today,"

"Me too," Mei says looking up at Julie. They smile at each other and continue eating. The sun starts to fall and the moon begins to shine when they make it to Julie's front porch.

"Thank you for today," Julie says as they stand out on the front steps.

"Anytime," Mei says rocking on her heels. The two girls make eye contact. Julie's eyes move down to Mei's lips once or twice but it was Mei who made the first move.

Mei takes a step forward and...
