Survive Or Kill

Chapter 1

      CHAPTER 1

      Sabrina's POV

        I cracked my eyelids open and all I could see in blinding white light burning my eyes.

        "Sabrina! Sabrina! You gotta wake up!" I heard a familiar voice call out. Then I was violently shook.

     "Arrianna... She's already awake. Stop shaking her!" I heard a different voice command her. Arrianna... She's... She's my best friend! I opened my eyes all the way and saw Mary, who must have been the other voice, and Arrianna. I pulled my back off the ground and criss-crossed my legs.

         "Why am I on the ground? And where are we?" I look around in fear. I remember the last place I was, was my bedroom. I was reading a book... I must have fell asleep and ended up here... It could be a dream, "Guys? Is this a dream?" I looked at them for an answer but they didn't say anything or did anything. 

           After a few moments, Mary finally said something, "We're in this... glass dome with a bunch of other strangers..." Mary then pointed toward a familiar group of people who were chatting with each other.  

        Realization washed over me... "Katie! May! Carrie! Chris! Danielle! Annie! Alli!" The group turned toward my direction and their expressions all matched. They were surprised. All of them ran over to me.

        "Sabrina?" Annie asked.

        Mary turned toward me and questioned me, "Do you know these people?"

        I nodded my head excitedly, "Of course I do! They're all like sisters and brother to me"

        Then Chris piped up, " Do you people realize that I'm the only boy here?"

        I laughed and then teased, "We all know you're secretly a girl!" Chris punched me in the arm.

        "I'm sorry to break this up here... but where in the world are we?" May yelled out the last part.

        Everyone finally took a look around... Carrie sarcastically said, "Trees, trees, trees, and more trees.. Oh look there's a bush!" Some of us chuckled at this.

        Allie glanced around and then her eyes finally landed on our clothes, "We're all wearing clothes that we don't normally wear..." she observed.

       I looked down and realized I was wearing a leather jacket, jeans, boots, and a large belt that can store so many things, "Allie... I think you're right." Then I glanced around and found that everyone else was wearing the same exact thing, "We look like a biker gang!" I joked. I just hope that whoever changed me into these clothes was the same gender as me.

        Annie then asked something we should've wondered earlier, "Why can't we tell that we're wearing this in the first place?"

        "Maybe it's a hologram?" Katie suggested uncertainly.

        I pulled the leather jacket's pockets, "Nope! I don't think so. It's completely solid."

        "Maybe it's like the Hunger Games tech!" Carrie suggested too. Carrie loves the books and so does Katie, but Carrie is more obsessed over it.

        "Maybe" Danielle said quietly.

        Chris picked up two sticks and started rubbing them together over a small pile of dried grass.

        "Chris! What are you doing?" I asked.

        "What do you think I'm doing? I'm building a fire! While you guys are chatting around, what you guys aren't realizing is that we are in a forest and no one knows where we are!" A spark ignited and landed onto the pile. Chris then continued, "I've been in boyscouts for so many years and the first thing I learned is when you're in the woods, you have to survive." The spark on the grass pile became a full fledged fire.

        My best friend, Arrianna, finally said after a long moment of silence, "He's right"

        May blinked a few times in surprise, "Wow... Chris that wasn't the usual bullcrap you usually say..."

        Then I started collecting some sticks to feed the ever so hungry fire, "Guys! What are you doing? Start collecting sticks so we'll have enough for the night!" Everyone then left from the spots they were standing in and started picking up the sticks that were lying down underneath the trees.

        Chris then yelled out, "We need to find some food! And don't pick the berries!"

        "Wait, wait, wait! What are you guys doing? We need to form a plan before doing whatever the hell we're doing!" Danielle yelled out before we set off to do the things Chris ordered us to.

        Everyone stopped.

        "So what do you want us to do?" I said, raising an eyebrow.

        "I don't know! But we need to create some sort of plan so we can stay alive. "

        May then turned to Chris, "What do we need to do to survive?"

        "First we should mark this place as 'point zero'. It's to make sure we can always find each other and this place..." Chris started, "Then we should make arrows facing toward this area on the trees as we walk to another direction so that when we're lost we can always find our way back here."

        Allie then grabbed a jagged rock from the ground and carved in a large oak tree, a extremely large 'X'.

        "Then we should really find some shelter..." 

        "Chris, you should lead us all... Use you're boyscout magic to keep us alive!' I said. Chris then nodded.

        Mary then said, "We're all depending on you, whoever you are!"

        "His name is Chris, Mary..." I quickly mentioned as I walked behind Chris as he lead us deeper into the woods...

        Suddenly, a large, booming male voice came from the direction behind us started speaking, which caused us to stop in our tracks, "HELLO EVERYONE! WELCOME TO THE DEATH ARENA! TO GET OUT OF HERE, YOU'LL HAVE TO KILL EACH OTHER! THE LAST PERSON TO SURVIVE WILL GET TO GO HOME! THERE ARE 14 PEOPLE IN THIS ARENA AND ONLY ONE GETS TO SURVIVE... SO... LET THIS BEGIN!" a large horn blasted all through the glass dome causing us to block our ears from exploding...

        Carrie then quickly joked, "So basically it's like the Hunger Games... Heh..."
