"Fuck" I muttered. The deer that I had been tracking for a good half a day was being eaten by one of the fucking walkers.
I should explain. A few weeks ago people started to come back to life and murdering everyone and everything in sight. I took people a while to realize how dangerous these things were. I naturally stayed on my own and only went out to get the necessities. Any time I did go out it always ended badly.
I had a rabbit and it wasn't like I was hunting for others but still it would have kept me fed for a few days at least.
As I was walking back to my tent which was in the bushes beside a clearing. I heard the sounds of cars pulling up beside me. But I was still hidden in the bushes.
I had my bow ready but I didn't think I would need to use it.
There was a petite skinny woman with shoulder length brown hair who was with her son by the looks of it.
There was a Korean kid and an old man who got out of an RV two woman who looked like sisters followed shortly afterwards.
In another car there was a big beefy man and a small woman with short cropped hair who looked like she was afraid of her own shadow there was also a little girl who was clutching a rag doll as I her life depended on it.
The last man was a real shock. I knew him very well or as well as you can know a police officer who studied an abuse case(which in case you were wondering was mine).
Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder and a drawling voice muttered into my ear.
"Hey there sugartits what are you doin' spyin on this here camp"
"Who the fuck are you" I muttered.
"I'm Merle and this is ma baby brother Daryl".
Daryl nodded his head. He had short brown hair and had a crossbow slung across his back. He seemed to be about thirty which was just two years older than me. Merle was older maybe about fifty or late fortys'. He seemed to have no hair on the top of his head and any hair he did have was almost completely grey."What's your name sugartits" Merle asked.
"Ain't none of your business"
"We told you ours so it would be the polite thing to tell us yours" he said darkly.
"Angel" I say not wanting to start anything.
"Nice name" Daryl said.
"Thanks" I said.
"See wasn't that hard was it" Merle said sounding bored.
Suddenly Merle peered through the bushes with interest. " They got a black man" Merle gleefully says.
"We gotta go Merle before they notice us......" Daryl urged.
"Nah baby brother I think I'll introduce myself first"
Merle strolls into the camp and immediately officer Walsh raises his shotgun and aims it at Merle's head.
I string my bow and Daryl gets an arrow ready."Now now officer friendly" Merle must have seen the badge "This doesn't have to be this way"
"How many in your group" Officer Walsh asks darkly.
"Two ma baby brother and a girl"
"Where are they"
"In that bush over there"
"Shit" I mutter under my breath. A flicker of recognition appears on officer Walsh's face but is gone by the time I get a proper look.
Merle gives us a questioning look but doesn't say anything. Which is good because I don't want him getting into my business.
I learnt that the women was Lori and that her son was called Carl
The old man was Dale and Glenn was the Korean kid. The two woman were in fact sisters Andrea was the oldest and Amy was a few years younger.
The beefy man was Ed and the woman who is afraid of her shadow was Carol who was his wife . Their daughter's name is Sophia.
T-Dog was the black man Merle had taken interest in.
While Andrea went into the city with a group I decided to stay behind and do a bit of hunting as a rabbit was not going to feed this many people.

I'm sorry for how bad this is I'm just starting out with a few techniques. ill try to keep the authors note to a minimum. I was also wondering how long I should keep the chapters. like this one or longer or maybe even shorter I don't really know and any help would be greatly appreciated.
