Y/n's pov

I left the apartment early this morning. I wanted to do something before school. Ned's birthday was coming up, and I had no money, so I wanted to get a job. That way, I could also pay a rent to May. She had told me multiple times that I was family and I wouldn't leave that easily. But for now, just calling her aunt May sounded weird. She was the nicest person ever and everything, but I felt bad for barging into their life like that.

I walked down the street until a sign caught my attention. It was a sign in a flower shop saying that they wanted to hire students to work for them. Without the slightest hesitation, I entered the shop.

In school

Before school started, I called Peter, Ned, Jesse and Sam to meet me beside the doors. When they arrived, I screamed of happiness, telling them all about my new job.

-"I saw the sign so I came in, and they talked a little bit with me and now I'm hired. I'll start this Saturday!"

-"That's great!" Jesse said, making me spin around.

The four boys had smiles on their faces. They all congratulated me and we got to our lockers.

In class

I noticed that Ned was always whispering in Peters ear. Peter seemed a little bit annoyed, and the answers I heard the most were "no" and "shut up, Ned."

In PE class

-"Hey, y/n come sit with us." Liz called me.

I wondered what she wanted, but she was nice, so I sat next to her and her friends. They started playing fuck-marry-kill while I glanced at Peter and Ned, doing sit-ups. Ned seemed excited. I couldn't hear anything, but his lips were moving really fast, while he was holding Peter's feet on the mat.

Then Peter turned to us. I shook my head and started paying attention to what the girls were saying. They were talking about spider-man.

-"Oh my gosh, she's crushing on spider-man." Betty said.

I knew, now, why Peter was looking. I smiled to myself. I hoped that that spider-dude was really old and that Liz wouldn't get with him. Ned told me that Peter liked her, and I didn't want to see him hurt.

-"Peter knows spider-man!" Ned suddenly exclaimed.

Peter looked panicked, as everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at him in silence. "Uh, no I don't. No. I... I... I mean..." He started.

-"They're friends." Ned continued, clearly not understanding how stressed Peter now was.

Flash obviously took that occasion to laugh at him. "Yeah, like coach Wilson and captain America are friends."

-"I... I met him, yeah Couple of times. But its hum... Through the Stark internship... And I'm not really supposed to talk about it." His last words were for Ned.

I tilted my head. Peter seemed really nervous, a little bit too nervous. What was going on with him?

Flash continued. "Yeah? Well, that's awesome. Hey, you know what, maybe you should invite him to Liz's party."

There was a red flag in my head. That meant that spider man was young. Poor Peter, if he was friends with him, I knew it'd hurt him to watch Liz and the guy fall in love in front of his eyes.

Liz agreed, and invited the two guys to come. I stopped paying attention to what was happening. I had to confront Peter about all this. He deserved a lot. Yet, he was treated like shit by Flash, and no one seemed to bother.
