Jesse's pov

-"Who is Tony Stark?" I asked Captain America in the car. We were speeding on the high-way, heading to the hospital.

-"An old friend. Why?" He asked me.

-"I heard my dad talking about him, he was saying that she used to be Tony's "toy" before he captured her..."

-"He's never talked about her..." Cap said, hesitantly. "I'll give Nat a call, and tell her to call him and to give her a visit at the hospital."

-"Why don't you call him yourself if you are old friends?" I asked him.

Bucky gave Steve a funny look with a smirk. "They had a fight."

-"Bucky, its not funny." He gave him a stern look.

I kept looking back and forth to from the two guys to y/n. She was pale, and I could feel her jerky breathing. I was holding as much pressure as I could against her stomach, wishing for her to make it.

As soon as we arrived at the hospital, nurses ran out of the hospital and took her to surgery.

-"Sorry, kid, we gotta go. Are you gonna be okay?" Cap asked me.

-"Yeah, thank you, a lot." I started to tear up, she was probably going to make it, thanks to the both of them.

Steve took a piece of paper out of his pocket. He wrote something really quick on it.

-"If you need anything, here's my number, but emergency only, and please don't give it to Tony if you see him. I don't know if he's still mad at me or not."

I nodded and thanked him again. He left and I went to the waiting room.

That night

y/n's pov

I opened my eyes slowly. I had no idea where I was. I looked at my arms. There were tubes in them. I panicked and yanked them off. I sat up, my head was killing me and my vision was blurry, but I had to get out. Jesse's dad could come in any second.

A pair of arms wrapped around me, I tried to get them off.

-"Hey, hey. Stop, its me. You're fine. Hey. It's me, it's Jesse." I looked up and it was him. "Hey, you're safe. You're in the hospital."

I looked around, my vision was clearing up. My whole stomach was covered in bandages, I could feel that my back was too. There was an other around my shoulder. A nurse burst in. She quickly ran next to me and plugged the tubes back in my arms.

-"You need to calm down. Don't take these off again." She told me with a reassuring smile. She then checked my vitals and my temperature.

Jesse just held my hand in silence. Once the nurse left, he asked me: "How do you feel?"

-"Good... not bad... I don't know... Wait, who was that flag guy?"

-"The flag guy?"

-"The guy that dressed like the American flag..."

He laughed. "That was Captain America, he saved you."

My eyes were starting to feel heavy. I fell asleep in Jesse's arms.

The next morning

Jesse wasn't there when I woke up. I did not panic like last night. This time, my body actually hurt. Jesse came in, he was followed by a doctor.
