The next few days (more like a filler chapter)

So I'm skipping the scene where Peter gets home and May freaks out and Peter cries...

Y/n's pov

I got home and Peter was already in bed. Aunt May greeted me with a sad smile, but I know how easily worried she gets so I think Peter told her everything or whatever.

We sat on the couch.

-"I'm worried for Peter" She told me. I saw the tears starting to form in her eyes.

-"He just lost the Stark Internship" I told her. I knew she knew about it, and therefore, if Peter hadn't already told her, it would be easy to explain and if he did, it would be what he said to her.

-"Yeah, I know, he told me." She said. I was right, but I didn't know how much he told her, therefore, I remained silent and only nodded.

-"I think you really help him, you know. He used to sneak out before you came in. And I know you two sleep in the same room..."

I panicked and cut her off.

-"I do not... with Peter. We're just friends."

-"Yeah, sorry. I know. I wasn't clear enough. I hear you at night. Your nightmares. But I'm here if you want to talk about it... Peter doesn't open up to me like he used to, so I won't force you to tell me everything. Just make sure he's safe. And happy."

She hugged me, and after a short second, I hugged her back. She's been like a mother to me ever since I got here. I know she does her best. In her position, I wouldn't do a good job. Raising two teenagers. It must be hard, and she does it without complaining.

She patted my back. "You should probably go to sleep. I think we are all tired right now. It was a hard day for all of us."

I went to bed. Peter was already there, sleeping. I tried not to wake him up as I snuck under the covers. He opened his eyes slightly and wrapped his arm around me. I felt something wet fall on my face, tears. I wiped them away with my hand.

-"I'm so sorry, Pete. You deserve so much more than this."

He remained silent and pulled me in closer. I stayed awake until I was sure he was asleep. Only then did I allow myself to fall asleep myself.

Next morning, in school

Peter left the principal's office and Ned jumped up, asking him if he was expelled. Luckily, he was not. Weirdly, Ned did not seem to notice that Peter was a little depressed.

Ned was always energetic and he cared about Peter a lot. But he was not the best at decoding other people's emotions.

Resume of a few days

Days passed and the same thing was repeating itself. School, going back home while Peter was in detention (he made it very clear that if he saw me in detention with him, he would be really upset) and then Peter helping Ned build the lego death star in the music studio. When he would come back home, I would tell him to ask Liz to the Homecoming, since I was already going with Jesse, and I knew he liked her.

Finally, one day, Peter asked Liz to go to Homecoming and she said yes.

When Peter comes back home

-"May, y/n, I need your help."

I felt a smile creep on my face, because I had a good idea of what Peter was about to ask us, but aunt May looked at him, clueless. It was weird that he didn't seem too happy. He shot me a strange glance.

-"She said yes."

I jumped up and hugged him, trying to get him more excited. "She said yes! Haha! I can't believe it!"

-"Who said yes? What are you talking about?" May looked up at us, completely puzzled.

-"Pete finally admitted his feelings and has a date to Homecoming."

-"Finally Peter! You were almost late." Aunt May joked.

Resume of the next few days (kinda like in the movie)

All our days were spent (appart from school and detention for Peter) shopping for a suit for Peter. I already had the dress aunt May bought for me in my first few days of arriving here (it was hard to repay aunt May since she didnt accept any money so I did a lot of chores around the house). It took us hours to figure out how to attach a tie but we finally made it. I bought cologne for Peter and May bought a corsage for Peter.

Buying the cologne was fun because I wanted to pick out two, one really bad, a joke, and a real one. The face Peter made when he smelled the cheap and disgusting cologne was hilarious. We could tell (aunt May and I) that he hated it but didn't want to be rude. So the relief he felt when we told him it was a joke was obvious.

I'm sorry this chapter is really short, but I want to have a long one for the Homecoming part. And even if it's more of a filler, I feel like the time gap was too big to ignore it... so sorry if you don't like it.
